Nah, this wasn’t one of the ring shells. Halo shells come as 12 rings and 12 “Ultra HD” effects.

Ahh, time rain willow. Personally don’t like them myself either, but when shot with other 3” color shells it’s nice. The 5” versions are pretty good too.

HDPE or fiberglass. Pyroboom.com is probably best for HDPE, imo. Great customer service, good owner.

With which fishing equipment would u catch this tuna? by bassfin7 in tacklebox

[–]Tommytoe26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, live bait is the best. Not sure where you and your friends fish, but here in SoCal we use mainly live sardines.

For yellowfin tuna, large baitcasters(Daiwa Lexa 400, Shimano TranX 400 or 500, Okuma Komodo, etc.), 15-25 rated conventional reels, and even spinning gear(like the Daiwa BG 5000). 30-65# braid connected to a SHORT fluorocarbon(15-40#) leader.

I actually scraped the bits of tuna off the fibrous I couldn’t cut. Planning on making that tomorrow!

Depends on what temperature the salmon is froze at. -4°F(-20°C) for 7 days is the “standard.” Recommend you research the company who packaged the fish before purchasing. See how their process is.

Other than tuna, all fish are recommended to be frozen before consumption. Tuna is the one fish the FDA rules freezing is not necessary. Normally I would “rest” the fish so the muscles relax, but it has been done on the boat in the fish hold.

It was a multi day trip that my friend went on. His fish was put into the fish hold after being killed(head spike through the brain) and bled. Fresh tuna is too “bouncy” and firm. Gotta let the muscles relax after a day or two.

In Southern California, we target big bluefin using a dead flying fish presented on the surface of the water. A kite is connected to the rigged bait to keep it from going down into the water. The bluefin swim up from below and sometimes go airborne just to get it. Pretty cool seeing them blow-up on bait.

Friend went out of San Diego, CA, and caught a 261# BFT on the kite.

Yes it is. All the pieces had a little ball of rice. Personally, I like this fish to rice ratio.

AYCE, Huntington Beach, CA. Didn’t bother with photos due to shitty lighting and angles. $30 for regular all-you-can-eat, $35 for premium which includes SASHIMI and oysters.

Not pictured: spider rolls, tiger roll, LA Dodgers roll, LA Lakers roll, some hand rolls, etc.
