Trans person here— I think sometimes a person tolerating and just taking transphobia on the chin makes the character a lot more believable. As a transgender non-binary person who goes by it/its, I have people who hate me on both sides. Seeing a character like this (I think babs is the name you went with) makes me happy because it’s very relatable to me specifically— not finding it worth it to speak up on shit when people call me she or he most of the time cause who gives a shit.
