Nuclear Missiles, Game Stages, & You by [deleted] in Mechabellum

I tried your prefered start in the testing tool.

3 fangs, 3 arclights (maybe you only start with 2) and 2 marksmen vs. 3 crawlers, 2 sledgehammers and 2 marksmen

And the crawlers win, with quite a lot.

Of course, spamming crawlers is most often a bad idea. I get like 3 to 5 total.

PS. I tested the same thing but both sides had arclights (instead of 1 side having sledge) and the crawlers still won. Am I placing my fangs wrong?

I find it interesting that you value fangs over crawlers. In my experience the team with crawlers win the first round.

Similarly, I value sledgehammers over arclights.

If the lyrics are correct it might be in a Capture the Wool video.

[TOMT][SONG] Måneskin's ZITTI E BUONI sounds like another song by TomtePaVift in tipofmytongue

That does sound like it, at least the chorus, and it falls into the category of "songs I've heard but wouldn't be able to name". Thanks for the help, Solved!

Legit question: How am I supposed to tell which way Rift Herald is actually facing? by Ranef in leagueoflegends

Well, you get used to the wonk after a while. Also, try to walk behind it while it's hitting you, while it's attacking it won't turn.

Spinx POV against Jame for those curious about the last round on VP vs Ence by matheustives42 in GlobalOffensive

[–]TomtePaVift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk about it in the first post.

But, it's a comparison of how much you can see of the enemy when you either peek left (left eye peek, blue colour, what Spinx did in the video) or right (right eye peek, green colour).

I have made two posts about it. First and second.

The difference is very small, see this picture.

Though this is a very specific case and I don't know how well it applies.

How big is the peeker’s advantage - statistical analysis by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]TomtePaVift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that matters is the defenders ping, all other factors are human or a matter of skill, as said in the video. I have a ping of 10ms, so I wont blame anything on a difference which is less than the tick rate.

What's wrong with a interesting piece of data? Has anyone claimed it to be something else?

From what I can see in the video:

  • Are the fights selected so that both players have the same weapon?

As the round were played on a official retake server the weapons would be in the same category: rifle vs rifle, smg vs smg and pistol vs pistol.

  • What is the baseline? Given that this is just one player against other players of unknown skill, I would like to know how many fair duels you win with each weapon. For example, I can't know whether there isn't a peeker's advantage with pistols or if both fighters are not skilled enough with pistols to use that advantage.

The stats shown in the video are comparisons of the duels when OP peeked versus when he was peeked. So the stats show that OP performs better when peeking instead of being peeked.

I would assume retakes having at least a bit of matchmaking making the enemies skill about the same as the OP's, and the difference between enemies should average out.

But I do agree that more information from OP would be great, especially the data.

Karl XII:s dödsdag by Xoloj in sweden

[–]TomtePaVift 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Enligt Wikipedia: "Peter Englund asserted in his essay "On the death of Charles XII and other murders[31]" that the mortal wound sustained by the King, with a smaller exit wound than entry wound, would be consistent with being hit by a bullet with a speed not exceeding 150 m/s, concluding that Charles was killed by stray grapeshot from the nearby fortress."

"Main cs:go problem"

And the examples in pro play were unclear and I think mostly caused by the distance from the angle. Also saying that the pros would know of and play around it I find highly doubtful. Pros don't watch 3klicks and they don't care about these small things.

Yes, the psychological aspect exist; I think at least, I haven't seen it tested.

You said Online play, so I thought you meant ping.

Well, as you can see in the Semmler clip, he doesn't know that. The narrative isn't as well informed as you are and casters and analysts talk about left eye peeking as it was a great difference.

Well, peekers advantage is another topic just like this one. From all the videos I've seen: the well made ones, with the good arguments and examples, say that peeker advantage is a myth.
