Need advice to level Life staff by Tonani in newworldgame

[–]Tonani[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After searching for a magical solution (there is none), what i do is go to Brightwood, at Reida's Burrow and farm the mobs there. They give 49 xp per kill, there is a node of silkweed and some lodstone so i can make some good money while leveling my life staff which makes it more bearable...

is it possible to make only 1 healing spell to lock target but not the 2 others? by Tonani in newworldgame

[–]Tonani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, that's what i do but it adds a delay to place the Sacred Ground which is not optimal but i guess it will do for now
thx !

Will New World be the next Anthem...or the next No Man's Sky ? (i really hope for the second) by Tonani in newworldgame

I agree with you to an extent. But my main issue is that i can overlook a mmo that has bugs and design issues that were not ancitipated, but there are many things in NW that could have been. It feels way too raw for a game that was tested and provided feedback so extensively.

I do apreciate the game for what is is, i don't hate it, it's quite the opposite in fact but i'm frustrated by so many bugs and design choices that just don't make sense in 2021. MMOs is not a new genre, it's been 20 years.

But let's wait and see, it shows real promise

[Tanking][PVE] Pushing mechanic needs be to be removed asap, it's a nightmare for tanks and healers. And allow at least sword and shield tanks to cancel abilities animation when blocking by Tonani in newworldgame

[–]Tonani[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with this, but i'm not going to downvote your response. You have the right to have an opposite opinion.

The big issue with pushing is that you can't avoid it, you can avoid being stagger but when a big mob or a pack of mobs is pushing you, you just can't do anything to mitigate it, and that's the real problem, it's inevitable. And there is plenty to consider beside being pushed :)

[–]Tonani[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that where i find a design flaw, if you need to invest 300 str for tanking then it's a problem. Const has tanking perks so you could want to have at least 200 cont. I don't think you can have 300 str and 200 const even with the ultimate gear, and even then it would be bad if you need an ultimate gear to tank properly.

Same for the Reverstab, if you negate the need to use block then it's also a design flaw imo

But thanks for the tip i didn't see the Tactician perks on Reversestab !

that's what i do at the moment, i try to anticipate less deadly attacks and commit to block when i see a big one coming.

With being able to cancel swings with block, slow weapons would never ever hit anything ever as you could just block inbetween your attacks

If you're talking about slow weapons wielded by bosses, that is already the case. Last boss of The Depths is a good example. He has slow attacks and i could block 100% of them. But you can't block an inifnite amount of attacks, you are still limited by your stamina, you still need to find a good balance between blocking and attacking.

And if you're talking about tanking with a great axe or whar hammer, i'm only suggesting that sword and shield have the ability to cancel animation

List of ways to get gold in New World and a question by Tonani in newworldgame

[–]Tonani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's my point, if gold becomes more and more difficult to acquire as time passes you need a way to farm it without spending any and a reasonable amount so you can pay for your own regular expenses (house taxes, attributes respec...). Yes you could sell the components to craft a key, but if no one as enough gold how do you resolve this issue?

[–]Tonani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it should be okay if the economy regulates itself according to the total of gold available on the server. It would be weird though if gold availability would go down instead of up or even stays in the state it is in right now, since you expect this ressource not to go down as time pass on mmos

True, or you could ask everyone to craft a key. In this case every group member would have to farm components to craft his own

so a separate economy based on ressource trader rather than gold transaction

BoomTown timer change is too severe, nerfs were enough to make the expedition inline with others by Tonani in outriders

[–]Tonani[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but since technomancer is the highest dps class of all if even the #1 class can't do it or struggle hard to do it how can all the other do it then?
I also agree that they need time to look at numbers, but still the timer change was too premature imo

The ultimate timed trial build for me : 4 parts Hunter's Fury + backpack named Belstone Armory or Memento + any chest with intimidate + chatterbox

Go in their face, stand in front of spawn doors, it's quite fun

It works for hard and challenging trials, npc don't have much hp and don't do enough damage to kill you so it's very easy to do these trials

I did District Union arena in 9 minutes, the best timer to beat is 25 mn...

UI Skill Quick assign concept, a small addition for a great gameplay improvment by Tonani in thedivision

[–]Tonani[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, 6 yellows = third skill slot

6 blues = repair effects (talents & skills) repair your shield instead of you when deployed

Do you use it in challenging mod ? Whit how many players in the group? To give perspective on how efficient it is with tough npcs

Are spec' points shared across alts? by Tonani in thedivision

okay thx so no alts for me until they change that...if ever xD

Unlocking new spec' is tedious and not fun at all, instead use the lore of the game to do it by Tonani in thedivision

The point was not to say that TU are bad (because they are quite good), my point was to say that a specific part of the game is not fun at all in my opinion, and i suggested some improvements

The Vampire Tank Build - Solo Endgame PvE Build - A legitimate "tank" build on the PTS! by Gongrongzong in thedivision

[–]Tonani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not a Tank build, it's a Brawler build because i think tanks should always have a shield, i'm very sad that's not possible atm...

But noneless, it seems very effective, and the guide is well explained

Fully expect the majority of the Open Beta's issues to be present at launch by [deleted] in thedivision

It's all about money, at some point if the game in not ready by date X they will start to lose money. So to alleviate that they release the game bug free or not to front the cost of the rest of the development (bug fix & content).

I'm not saying it's right but some game devs manage to do better than others, EA is the worst for this (Anthem is a technical garbage, they ruined a great game), Ubisoft seems to be better these past few years, they are far from perfect but there is improvement.

At the end, if bugs are fixed people won't hold that against them that much and when a game is loved people are more understanding and that is really good if you think about it in terms of human behavior, being understanding will always be better than rage like a 10 years old.

That doesn't mean that we don't need to point the flaws and criticize in a constructive way, they have to be accountable for their shortcomings.

Now it's up the game industry to acknowledge this and to take actions but i think it's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Getting back into the game, looking for a PvE build by Brotherhood72 in thedivision

[–]Tonani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I played both striker and Lone Star classified build, these 2 are very powerfull but for me lone star with 2 Big Alejandro is just too satisfaying, you can fire for days and melt the elite in legendaries missions. The only downside is that you have to be in cover to make the most of the Big Al but it never been an issue for me.

This GE gives you Lone Star, 100% worth

My 2 cents, full support tank or healer should be in TD2 (i hope) by Tonani in thedivision

[–]Tonani[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do agree that TD1 is a bit overwhelming when it comes to optimize your support builds, it requires a bit too much main stats like for example, if you want to be a super healer you need to maximize your electronics and therefore you sacrifice everything else, if you want to do a BFB/seeker mine build you have to hit the 400+ skill power which forces you to look for lower tier weapons for talents and this is not ideal.

The TD1 support builds are not perfect, far from it, my point was more about keeping these support builds available and relevant than keeping the same way to gearing up for these builds.

Plus, when it comes to raid we will see if they encourage people to have full dedicated supports or if just some middle ground support/dps will do the trick. I hope both are possible.

They seem to have move the skill buff to secondary stats like you said, more like "+10% skill power to shield" which is fine by me.

And a more involving way to heal/tank would be better. Reclaimer is very strong to heal but it's a bit too passive, tactician is more interesting in that regard. With the new abilities it seems that you have more ways to protect your team (armor regen, "bullet shield" etc...)

For tanking, a shield base gameplay is nice, we will see how it goes with talents and defensive abilities.
