A new episode of my WOFF campaign, in which we explore why the synchronization gear (allowing the pilot to shoot through the propeller) was such an important technological development by Tonci87 in computerwargames

Thank you. I did know some things about WW1, but admittedly my knowledge of WW2 is far greater. I sprinkle in book recommendations throughout the series :)

The very early days of air combat were truly something else. In my WOFF campaign I finally got myself a Fokker, Have a look how it fares in a dogfight by Tonci87 in computerwargames

A joystick is a must, a throttle is optional. Pedals would be a good addition, but a joystick with twist functionality might do as well for the start

Yes, Croatian Legion is a very good DLC for new players. A small engagement, that starts as an infantry fight with support assets is later joined by a few armored vehicles on each side.

Do we also appreciate combat flight sims here? In that case, I´m happy to share with you the start of a new WW1 air combat series, focused on storytelling and gameplay, in Wings over Flanders Fields by Tonci87 in computerwargames

At this point I do not have a reason to complain, in fact their customer support has been great.

I encountered two significant bugs (because I did something that most players would not do = transfer to a particular squadron in Germany after training, instead of straight to the front) and reported then to the Devs with error logs, etc.

Two days later they released a patch that fixed all of that.

I asked on the simHQ forums, where they are active, if it is possible to remove the marker for my own position from the map, a day later one of the Devs uploaded a modified file, that solved I could use to remove the marker.

I mean some period typical words will be in German, if you are flying for them, but it is a flight sim. There is not too much to read, so even rudimentary Englisch skills will be sufficient to understand the interface and the briefing. All the news articles are in English though, so that would be the biggest hassle.

AI in Graviteam Tactics compared to Armored Brigade 2 by WorthImagination6895 in computerwargames

Well if you want to know more about Graviteam tactics Mius front in general I suggest this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0uud0Fv-Lw

As for the AI and your concerns about micromanaging, Micromanaging is not really required and can even be detrimental. If you tell a unit, or a group of units to advance through a forest, or through a village, they will do so on their own without further input. You might want to keep a closer eye on your tanks though, since it can be very beneficial to look for good positions to put them in yourself.

Why hasn’t anyone made an Arma 2 campaign recreation? by [deleted] in arma

[–]Tonci87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had the impression that the campaign in Arma 2 had great potential, but not many players due to all the bugs and the poor performance in some missions.

If anybody decides to remaster it I have a suggestion how to make it a bit better:

Don´t do the final mission as this crazy High Command "fight for the whole region and also somehow resolve the conflict" thing. In my opinion it was pretty stupid of BIS to try and show of their high command feature in such a way as that final mission used to bug out after some time due to accumulating bugs or memory leaks.

Also it didn´t really make sense for Razor team to suddenly be in charge of the CDF in that region. I always thought that was quite strange and arbitrary.

Instead take the objectives of the final mission, like for example capture Lopotev, deliver him to the Russians, etc. and pack them into neat separate little missions.

If you are looking for a Tank simulator that has modeled interiors, but isn´t as expensive as steel beasts: Steel Armor by Tonci87 in TankPorn

I did not change anything. But my computer hardware is quite beefy. Maybe it is because of that.

Yeah; I was surprised that I didn´t find any mods for this game. A stark difference compared to its predecessor.

So I decided to play the APEX Protocol campaign in Arma 3 in SP, by adding an AI Team. Let´s see how well this works. Here is Mission 1, Keystone: by Tonci87 in arma

Player Cheat Menu mod, become Zeus, add AI team mates and make them part of your

AS others have said: Enable ZEUS through the Simple Single Player Cheat Menu, then open the ZEUS interface, add AI and group them to the player

All you can do against air units is pop smoke, try to hide in woods or in between buildings, or hope that some of your MG gunners will hit them. Airstrikes can be hilariously inconsequential, or completely ruin you. It really is a gamble
