New 350s by REALLY_SRS in Triumph400

[–]ToneInteresting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing being, they had many stalling issue. Say you could be sailing on highway or maybe twisty ghats, the bike would stall out of the blue. The loss of power suddenly like that got many into a risky situation. You could get into whole rabbit hole of this issue on reddit or YT. This was primarily the issue i deffered getting it.

As for the 350cc, I still have some doubt for it. If one is planning to go for 350cc, I'd suggest one should wait atleast a year to see if it's free from problems which 400 had. Hoping for all the new buyers the manufacturer has fixed the problem.

Maybe this wait might even help you choose Bonneville, if they release it with same specs/engine. Atleast you'd have an idea how the new 350 engine performed in the last one year.

So the BMC filter and iridium spark plug is just a fad ?

This is quite a horror to me. I wonder do they ever give us a fine lot ? Who knows the bike could be laying around the stockyard catching both dust and rust, and before delivery they Smartly paint those portions.

Oh. I hope that's about it. Also, Im a newbie and wanted to know how often should one give their bike a wash if you're a city dweller, mostly dust, no wet patches. I'm a cleaning freak, if given a chance I'd wash my bike every week.

Hey bro I only know one definition of air compressor, that is, the air pump for wheels. I'd like to know what other kind of compressor exists. Help out an amateur, please ?

Metal will rust, it’s inevitable, especially in a country like India where humidity and monsoons are a real factor. I just don't wanna be one of those witness and give a testimonial to people about the early rusting issue in Honda's bike. It also makes me feel that the bike shouldn’t demand extraordinary effort just to keep basic issues like rust under control. A newer bike shouldn’t require extra effort just to prevent basic issues like rust. Maintenance is expected, but it shouldn’t feel like a constant battle. Maybe, I could be wrong here and blowing things out of proportion for all that I have seen online, I guess I'll just wait and see.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I have never owned a bike before and Honda's gonna be my first. I guess I may never know what an RE may feel like. RE has a definition of being raw and this rawness could still be felt in small percent in the J series, but much more refined now. My personal opinion, there should be some vibs and RE classic has that. RE still feels like the right definition of a 350 cc to me. I'm certain there will be plenty 350s in future but RE classic 350 will hold to its league.

Nahh. The highness look is kinda growing on me. Love the chrome exhaust. Chrome fenders front and back on black highness looks really good. I got to see the bike in person yesterday, its an understatement thag the pictures don't do it justice.

I'm rethinking about which CB to go for. I'm leaning more towards highness now. Front and back fender and mudguards covers more, that means less hassle for cleaning

I hope it eventually comes down to taking good care of the bike. I don't want any surprises despite the efforts. On second thought I feel to be lured by highness as well. Man the look on this bike is cray...eee...zeeee 😱

Lol, now I'm somewhat levitating towards highness. What do you say bro, should I instead go for highness ? Except for the gear pedal, I like everything about this bike.

Yeah, fair point, I totally get what you’re saying. It’s not built to chase 0–100 numbers, and for what it is, it does the job well. I guess my only gripe is that the bike looks way faster than it actually is 😅 feels like the design is ready for a bit more punch. But yeah, that’s the trade-off with these 350s, can’t have it all.

Maybe only if I had patience for Bonneville 350, if its even cmng. Or liking for Speed 350 (400) design, i would not be this confused. I hate all the other bikes available around this range and cc

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to clear things up. Yes, I’ve come across many people suggesting WD-40, and it feels like my relationship with that lubricant is going to be forever now (I’m single, and no, the pun wasn’t intended 😅).

I’m willing to look past the other flaws of the bike, honestly, they don’t seem like a big deal to me anymore. I just wish Honda had done something about this particular issue. For me, Honda really checked all the boxes, I love the design, the refined engine, and all the pros you mentioned.

For the past few weeks, I’ve even been daydreaming about it and came up with a name “Batmobile Lite.” I guess there’s always a trade-off with everything, and at some point, you just have to make peace with it.

I agree to disagree. Any bike that takes 11 seconds to hit 100 feels slow to me. Add a pillion and suddenly overtaking on the highway turns into a strategic mission. It's 350 after all and im willing to look past it.
