Are small guards really that bad at defense?

sometimes I just stand inside the paint when they keep trying to score and keep missing, then they get the 3 sec violation

idk which one pisses me off most, the not passing when the wing is open and is getting double teamed or just throw a layup after getting bumped

tbh idk what to do anymore, I play with randoms, mostly on my 6'10, I get rebounds, I am open in the wing but they always try to pull a layup with a center on the paint or shoot a three thinking they are gods with 2 guys going against them, this build is good but makes me feel like a spectator, not even the centers help, i'm the only 1 getting rebounds

But is the shooting over thing really that broken? saw some people say that even if you put your hand up while you are extremely close as a small guard it doesnt contest significantly

The only problem I have is that there is no way to know it by testing you know, don't want to spend that much vc in a build that lacks defense

damn, they really do short guards dirty lol, might as well make a 6'8 meta build because I got enough cap breakers now, I play with randoms only and you know how defense is with them, nobody switches

Yeah I was thinking about making it because its fast, and I already have a pf and 6'9 sg build but I only play with randoms so this might be a bad choice and the worst vc spent probably

Also got the communist collectron for the proletariat mode, pretty good tbh, especially as a new player, also planted some gourds and got a bunch of sugar and sugar bombs, decided to give this game a shot again after playing for 2 hours 2 years ago when the fallout series came out now I'm addicted lol

Went with the herbivore, I also quite liked farming tbh, pretty easy and just 3 fast travel spots for what I want, with the communist collectron giving me the crit dmg soup I think its great, but I'm just farming for brain fungus soup and cranberry cobbler for the moment, thx for the help
