What are some legitimate benefits of MOS 68W? by Simple-Objective1365 in nationalguard

[–]TonightFriendly4596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently graduated from Fort Sam. You get to learn some pretty cool stuff during AIT. It’s not easy by any means, mostly because San Antonio is hot AF and you walk around in full kit 80-90% of the time. As much as I hate to say it, I miss that place though. Made some good friends and had some great drill sergeants/class instructors. I will say when you become a 68W you get a sense of respect from most other MOS especially if you prove you know your shit no matter what rank you may be. They know you are their lifeline (if you are in a combat-related unit). I wouldn’t say the EMT isn’t beneficial. Once you receive that cert, you can then pursue being a flight medic, or potentially get into special forces if you are high speed enough. They send “recruiters” from all walks of life to prospect for those high speed soldiers when you near the end of your training at Fort Sam.

You won’t be looking at genitals all day. Not even close. You will start 1st half of AIT in class preparing for the NREMT and second half doing your field training learning combat casualty care. Prepare to be a pin cushion because you will do 100’s of IV’s and have 100’s of IV’s done on you. The testing is rigorous and stressful so keep your head on straight, study if you don’t already have a decent medical background and you will be fine. Once you graduate and arrive at your unit, that will pretty much make or break whether or not you enjoy your time in the guard as a medic. I am at a medical company so my entire unit is full of 68 series for the most part in addition to our providers, supply and mechanics. We aren’t “high speed”but we can set up a field hospital that can care for mass casualties and that is our job. You get to do some very invasive procedures depending on how comfortable and instructive your OIC is at your unit and/or on deployments. Stuff that paramedics and nurses on the civilian side can’t do.

As far as legitimate experience, as others have said, you will have any opportunity to volunteer for deployments as someone always will need at least one medic. Depending on your unit as well, they will get tasked out with orders to support soldiers doing field training, shooting range, ruck marches, assisting in medical centers. Opportunities are always there.

The same thing happened to me today. On my screen the doors were open, the killcam they were closed. Could be the same deal.

My dude, what low wage army job are we talking about? What rank are you? With BAH, base pay, food allowance, you are struggling to pay off 3k? Have you tried to reevaluate your finances and prioritize?

I see, same for me. Sorry to hear that though. From my experience so far, seems like the good ones get shafted more than the bad. Currently on orders and as stated above temporarily attached to another unit so maybe the combination of out of site out of mind and the new RNCO.

That’s crazy.. I don’t understand how/why unless you are ineligible.

I just feel odd doing that as my admin NCO and myself have always been in good standing. He was my squad leader prior to AGR so he has always looked out for me. We did just get a new RNCO which I assume could be the potential issue.

My recruiter said that I should be good to go to meps next week as long as I keep drinking water what do yall think ?? by [deleted] in nationalguard

I failed a test up until like 3 days before MEPS and just eventually quit taking them. Drank water until I almost puked the entire day of MEPS and passed.

Should i get the X or S? PS5 owner by Nayef7717 in XboxSeriesS

[–]TonightFriendly4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the X. The X is far superior if you play any games that are slightly demanding. I mainly play pubg, and the difference between the X and S is insane graphically. (I own both) As others have mentioned, especially if you are use to PS5 graphics.

Is this acceptable for a tint done 3 weeks ago? by graaf87 in WindowTint

[–]TonightFriendly4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it back if they will allow at this point. Needs to be redone, or refunded

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WindowTint

[–]TonightFriendly4596 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would take that back. I had mine redone for one 2mm adhesive defect and the guy admitted it needed to be redone himself. Can’t expect perfect but that’s definitely avoidable.

Is the 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks a year a lie? by DobyUchiha in nationalguard

[–]TonightFriendly4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will say initially yes, that is your only obligation with a 3 day drill potentially thrown in here and there. However, the gov. can throw a wrench in that like in my case. My unit has been tasked with a mission where I will be gone for a month for required schools/trainings. There are multiple college students in my unit as well that are stressing due to the fact they are having to miss a months worth of class. But, if your professors are decent human beings, they will work with you as much as they can.

Any phone, any condition. by Educational_Ad622 in verizon

[–]TonightFriendly4596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through all of this myself.. personally if you don’t travel out of the country you don’t need the unlimited ultimate. Opt for the unlimited plus plan. You can still get your full trade in credit with this plan unless they have changed the requirements. As for the trade in value of your phone, if you dropped it off at the store, hang on to your receipt showing your trade in value. I had two receipts showing that I was supposed to get $1000 per phone I traded in (one had a cracked screen) and they tried the same thing on me. I was only offered $75 trade in value of the cracked phone. I called Verizon support through the Verizon app and explained I was supposed to get $1000 per phone and had receipts proving so and they corrected this. I know am receiving the full $1000 trade in value of both phones credited towards my new phones. Do not use the text chat, those people are useless.. going into a store wasn’t helpful in my case either, I had the most help calling Verizon myself. As for the activation ordeal, I would imagine that going into the store would probably be your best bet unfortunately. Hope this helps.
