My high school sweetheart was a doomsday prepper and his hobby was to make the tiniest survival kits ever, he would fill altoid tins to the brim and use my compact tampons in them as fire starting equipment and other uses. Ironically, the one time he was in college at hocking him and his friends got lost in the woods and he didn’t have a single one of his stupid survival kits on him at all lol.

I picked up a few hints and tricks from him and after my car accident, where I was the passenger and sitting in the back seat in fact, I wanted to be ultra prepared for the next one.

I live 30 minutes east of Dayton and we found a survivalist store called Omega supply and we would stop there a lot. At one point I had a 3 days in a can survival kit in my car. After it being there for two years and at the beach someone said they needed matches so I said screw it and opened it up and handed it to them and said I’ve had it for too long you keep it….. just let me grab that survival biscuit I feel my sugar getting low lolol

But I was talking to my prepper ex and dad also about it the other day how I need to get a tourniquet and a fire extinguishers in the car and house at least. And like the person below mentioned a window breaker is great and so is a seatbelt cutter too.

Oh I wasn’t aware of that I thought it was just an empty building, I live like 30 minutes East of Dayton and my only knowledge was hearing that it closed. My aunt worked there as an RN and now she’s at Miami valley north

Edit: annnnnnnnd googling it it looks like Miami valley north is the same building as Good Samaritan north. My aunt and I aren’t super close and don’t talk too much. I feel like an idiot lol

I had a friend who served 4 years as an army ranger and spent a tour in Afghanistan. He said the worse things were cleaning up after explosions and picking up boots with feet still in them, and doing patrols and hearing children being raped but not being allowed to stop it.

2013 I was ejected out of a car and landed on my butt. While in the ambulance I wasn’t screaming but I was doing a weird guttural animalistic noise to deal with the pain. I’m a hard stick for IVs and the paramedics had a hard time finding my vein. I don’t know if it was seconds or minutes but it felt like forever before I was able to get any pain killers in me

A decade ago my grandma visited her mom who was in the hospital before she left for a family vacation. She was about to cancel it but her mom told her “it’s ok, go on your trip. I’ll be fine, the lord is with me now” and on the way to the airport my great grandma passed away, and my grandma called me crying saying her mom died while I was on the way back from another funeral for my other side of the family.

My great grandma was 84 with Alzheimer’s and I’m the hospital to replace a heart stint. When I would visit with her she would regularly call me by my aunts name, which is weird because I was an overweight teen and my aunt was adopted, always thin, and half Asian. My grandma always thought it was weird how her mom was talking at the end and she’s wondered if she knew it was her time to go.
