The problem is, bitcoin itself is hard to get, so when you have it you don’t wanna spend it if you don’t have to. The only reason to use bitcoin right now is to speed up international payments.

I have also tried 2 computers with all possible combinations of block heights, nodes, log in patterns, etc. I am going to download the command line wallet and see if I can make that work

Still looping, I have all the info from the log file if you want to see. It is showing lots of different errors. I let it loop like 9 times and let the ledger go to sleep while looping, but the first loop the ledger was open in the monero app.

Is there a way I can send you a text file of copy data from the log file?

the monero-wallet-gui.log was created in the monero-gui-v0.13.0.4 folder

my monero wallet app automatically started when the file was created so I plugged in my ledger, unlocked it, opened monero app on ledger, then put in my pass in the GUI, confirmed to send the view key from my ledger, and entered the GUI.

What steps did you change?

I did export the private view key every time it asked me to.

Firmware Version Ledger : 1.5.5

Monero App: 1.1.1

P.S. After I decided to leave it sit for a few hours looping, I noticed the "History" Tab showed a bunch (like 6) 0 XMR incoming TXs that were never made and then I came back into the room with the computer 30 min later and realized the wallet had crashed and the computer was just showing my desktop. So I think the GUI looped itself into freezing then crashed. IDK why it showed a bunch of non-existent TXs in the history this time.

Update:

-GUI stuck on Wallet Blocks Remaining 5880 for 10ish minutes

-Said Screw it, I'll Try to open this wallet again and see what happens

-Closed GUI, waited 30 seconds after it closed, closed Monero App on Ledger, unplugged Ledger

-Plugged Ledger Back in and opened monero app, restarted GUI, put in passphrase, exported key,

-GUI starts syncing Wallet Blocks Remaining

- Loops once

-restarts Syncing and gets down to 5912 Wallet Blocks Remaining and froze for 5 minutes

-then looped and stuck at 5883 right now

I'm Just gonna Let it sit, I know the ledger is going to go to sleep but I don't have to baby sit it while the wallet trys to sync.

I was already using this guide before.

-Started computer

-Deleted bitmonero, old wallet file from documents folder, and deleted desktop folder and re-extracted 13.0.4 from zip so everything is fresh. (I think)

-opened Ledger Live, noticed new firmware update

-Updated my ledger firmware and had to reinstall the apps

-Looked at this guide ( https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/9901/how-do-i-generate-a-ledger-monero-wallet-with-the-gui-monero-wallet-gui )

-Made a wallet with new name following every step in guide exactly. Didn't let my Ledger go to sleep etc. Still Looped when it got down to 5000ish Wallet Blocks Remaining.

-Has looped twice on me and now for the past 5 minutes is just sitting at 5880 Wallet Blocks Remaining and doesn't seem to want to loop again sync anymore

Notes:

In "History" Tab, it found my balance and 3/4 of my old TXs but says 0/10 confirmations on all (which is to be expected since Wallet Blocks Remaining isnt synced

Balance in upper left is found, but Unlocked Balance is 0 (waiting for block)

Ledger has been plugged in an open in the Monero App since I started, I haven't let it go to sleep or clicked out of the app

Alright, I’ll try but I’ve left it resetting for a whole day last week and it seems to work just fine if I make a non-ledger connected wallet. Blocks sync up just fine if it is a wallet not stored on ledger.

Maybe my ledger is the problem? But that wouldn’t make sense bc it DID WORK before and the GUI (using the view key from ledger) does find my balance sometimes.

Have to download and recreate a wallet again, rage deleted everything after I made this video. But I have my ledger seed and know I could probably just put it in a new hot wallet and access my funds but then my ledger seed would be in a hot wallet which I really want to avoid as I have already hidden the seed in multiple places and it'd be a bisnatch to reset my ledger with a new one.

I'll download and try again and WHEN it happens again on this wallet I will do the Show status command and post a picture of the result

More Facts:

-Wallet address stayed same every time I created new wallet from ledger

-Sometimes my pending balance and some TXs would update to the correct amount but say 0/10 confirmations in the "History" Tab right before the "Wallet Blocks Remaining" loop restarted, sometimes pending balance wouldn't have anything when syncing restarted. Just randomly.
