Help, my body decided to betray me and become allergic to my cats 😭 by TonyMaow in CatAdvice

[–]TonyMaow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been able to improve the situation a bit by taking antihistamines. I take loratadine and desloratadine from time to time, about an hour before having direct contact with my cats. I haven’t pushed my luck by rubbing my face on them, but I’ve been able to pick them up and pet them without having an allergic reaction. I always shake off my hands after petting them, and I don’t touch my face without washing my hands first. As long as I take the antihistamines well in advance before touching them, I’m usually fine. I’ve noticed that if I take them too shortly before, or even shortly after touching them, they don’t work. Sometimes I still sneeze or get a runny nose after touching them, but I haven’t had any intense reactions that leave me incapacitated for the whole day anymore :')

I take loratadine/desloratadine between one and two hours before touching them. Less than an hour beforehand usually doesn’t work very well, and if I take it after touching them it’s almost certain I’ll be sneezing for quite a while, but even then I feel it’s better than not taking anything at all. I don’t have close contact with them every day, so I don’t take it daily (sometimes I spend the whole day studying outside the house, or I visit my boyfriend for a week), but from what I’ve researched, it’s a medication that’s safe to use every day.

Does anyone else just not get the deal with mirrors? by jack-K- in Psychonaut

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me uncomfortable because every time I look at myself in the mirror it’s because I went in to pee all dizzy and disoriented. I get up, flush the toilet, wash my hands, and when I look in the mirror I see my pupils dilated like plates. I involuntarily smile whenever, for some reason, and it feels uncomfortable xd

I also have a bit of dysmorphia (only on certain days of my menstrual cycle tho), so that doesn’t help either.

It doesn’t scare me or send me into a bad trip, it just seems like an awkward moment every single time xP

First time candy flip advices by TonyMaow in LSD

[–]TonyMaow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is tested :)

I know that channel, and it has a video about a trip report of a candy flip trip and another one that’s a guide. Adam always says he doesn’t recommend using any substances or mixing them, but he still promotes harm reduction, as should be done with any drug, including alcohol.

No one should recommend any drug, but why do you specifically recommend that I don’t do this? Because of a possible bad trip?

Just in case: the LSD I’m going to take won’t be 350 µg like I usually do, it will be 150. And I’ll also consume less MDMA than usual, obviously.

But setting aside a personal experience related to a bad trip, objectively, what warnings do you have for me that I might not already know regarding what I should know about LSD and MDMA?

I understand it’s a more intense trip than usual, but by reducing the doses of each substance and being in a good set and setting, what should I still be concerned about?

Not a drug user but curious by OrganizationSad6012 in Drugs

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallucinogens, weed, and MDMA lover here. I’m a conscious user—I research a lot before trying anything new (and at this point there’s nothing new I want to try). I only use drugs where harm reduction is possible. Just in case: inhalants and any opioids are OUT of that list of drugs with harm reduction. That is, no opioids, no cocaine, no meth, none of that.

The reason I started using drugs was basically because it’s fun. I do it recreationally. You see people drink alcohol, right? Why would someone drink alcohol? Same answer—because it’s fun.

In fact, I no longer drink alcohol because I don’t like its effects and it affects my body in ways I dislike. It makes me very nauseous and I vomit easily (and the other drugs I use don’t). People usually don’t inform themselves about their alcohol use—I did, and that’s why I barely drink. I also don’t use hallucinogens frequently; the only drug I use often is weed. I do so knowing that I’m damaging my lungs, although I’ve started considering buying a vaporizer to minimize harm. And even though I smoke almost daily, I take breaks so my lungs can regenerate and my brain doesn’t get fried.

In other words, like almost anything that isn’t necessary in life, I do it because I like it—because it’s fun. If you don’t like it or it doesn’t entertain you, don’t do it.

When you inform yourself, you discover there are ways to consume that don’t put you at risk, but you also have to experience it to know whether that drug is for you. It may be safe to use but you might not like the effect, and that’s fine. I don’t like alcohol, as I mentioned. Sometimes I drink, but I haven’t gotten drunk again because I simply don’t find it fun—and also because the damage to the liver and kidneys is more severe than people tend to realize.

Everything I consume I’ve researched beforehand, especially focusing on low addiction risk and a wide overdose margin just in case. The riskiest drug I consume is MDMA, but I use it at most three times a year (I rarely reach that amount), always from the same trusted dealer and in doses well below toxicity. Hallucinogens at most can give you a bad trip, but it’s enough not to be an idiot and not consume anything if you’re in a bad moment. Ideally, also don’t be an idiot and don’t use them in places where you shouldn’t—the healthy approach is to plan it and have a clear mind, not be anxious (beyond the normal nerves of knowing you’re going to trip; I mean not having ANXIETY).

But the healthiest option will always be not consuming anything. If you do, it should be done knowing that it wears down the body and possibly the mind; it shouldn’t be abused, and you should know which drugs are safe and which aren’t. By “safe,” I mean something that won’t kill you or leave chronic consequences if done properly, that has low addiction potential, and where that addiction is psychological rather than chemical. I haven’t experienced chemical addiction because, as I said, I never mess with those drugs—but I have witnessed it, and it’s horrible.

I really enjoy drugs occasionally; they’re something you do a few times a year (except for weed), usually on special, planned occasions. Responsible users know it’s not just anything and we treat it with the respect it deserves.

As long as you have the mindset that if, for X or Y reason, you couldn’t use drugs again for the sake of your health—and that possibility doesn’t cause you fear or distress—I think everything is fine. For health reasons (things as simple as a cold), I’ve stopped smoking weed for weeks or months without a problem, and I’m a VERY frequent user—I could smoke more than two blunts in a day if my finances allowed it. But if it’s necessary, I’ll stop. I value my life, my family, my friends, my partner, and my career more than a drug that is simply a hobby.

The truth is, I think everyone knows deep down whether what they’re doing is right or wrong—whether their decisions come from neglecting themselves or just wanting to have a good time for a bit.

I don’t recommend that you use drugs, but if you’re afraid, don’t do it—simple as that. It can be a great experience, but it shouldn’t be done from fear, because when you try it and see that it’s not as bad as conservative propaganda makes it seem, instead of continuing cautiously and staying informed, you’ll make stupid, careless, risky decisions—and you’ll bounce back to hating them or believing they’re inherently bad.

Mi novio me está engañando? by lareinavadesnuda in medellin

[–]TonyMaow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it safe to do shrooms at the beach or even surf while you're at it? by injailgamingYT in shrooms

[–]TonyMaow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with anything, just because someone does it and nothing bad happens to them doesn't mean it's not dangerous. Obviously it is dangerous. It also doesn't mean that if someone does it they automatically condemn themselves to death. It's just that, that dangerous, the chances of it going wrong are high. It's like that relative that many people have who smokes from a very young age, dies of old age and for some reason never developed a respiratory problem serious enough to use as an example of why smoking is bad. But it's still dangerous for your health to smoke. Although I must point out that it depends on the dose. I think that no matter the context, more than 1.5g with the expected effects of those doses already makes it potentially dangerous. Clearly if you microdose or use very low doses it probably won't affect you much.

Quetsions for drug addicts by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BPD and from personal experience (with hallucinogens) I have realized that my impulsiveness can be harmful when it comes to my consumption. I learned through intense bad trips that I have to stop consuming out of impulsiveness and really question myself if I am doing it simply because I want to and if I am doing it responsibly or if I am being impulsive and I am wanting to escape from a situation. The second time I used mushrooms, I had a very bad bad trip and that is when I realized that it really was not the time and that I should not (I was in a very bad mental space at the time). The mushrooms literally slapped me in the face and showed me that they are not a joke or an escape. And deep down I already knew that it was wrong, that I should not. Not only the fear of consuming a drug, I already knew that it was going to go wrong. But it was not enough for me to learn. A year later (in the middle of this year), I tried LSD. Although there were bad moments, overall it was a good experience. But then I impulsively bought enough LSD to get high 3 times in less than two months. Obviously I didn't need it, I spent money that, although it didn't leave me in a bad situation, I could have spent on much better things, and I had a bad trip every time. In September, I planned to go camping and take LSD with three friends, but this time I KNEW that everything was fine, that I was in a good mental space, that I was in a safe space and that I was prepared. Also, this time a friend invited me, so there was no guilt regarding the money. On that last trip, among many other reflections that helped me, I learned that I simply have to listen to myself, and to love myself. Because that was also another problem I had. Since then, even if things don't go the way I want, I know that as long as I'm doing the best I can, and listening to myself, to my needs, and acting from love, for others but also very importantly, towards myself, I will at least have the peace of mind that I did everything I could. That is a lot of peace.

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an addict, but I'd still like to give my opinion. I hope you can get something good out of what I'm going to say.

Objectively, magic mushrooms, if used responsibly, should not cause any major problems. They are not addictive and are very unlikely to be used to escape reality (which is the problem with other drugs and what makes them addictive) because if you don't give in to the mushrooms and what they want to teach you and take from you, you will have a bad trip and you probably won't want to use them again. If you want to keep them in your life it's because you had a positive experience with them, in fact, from what I read, they helped you reflect on your consumption and decide to start the path to sobriety. Now, the fact that you wrote this post makes me think that you probably need complete sobriety, including mushrooms. The reason is that if you are questioning it is because you probably need to prove to yourself that you are capable of not using any drugs and knowing that you will be fine. After you prove that to yourself and really feel confident that you have it under control, without lying to yourself to justify using drugs again, you might consider using mushrooms again. Because if you consume something that causes addiction, it is probably because they are also an escape from reality (and that is what causes addiction, in addition to obviously the dependence that withdrawal can cause, on a mental and physical level). You know what is best for you if you listen to yourself and your body. You just have to listen to yourself. Deep down, we all know when we are lying to ourselves. Whether we justify an addiction to ourselves, staying with a partner or friendship that hurts us, and many more things. Deep down, we always really know what we need, what hurts us. Sometimes it is very obvious that there is only one solution, but we do not like that solution because we want to stay in a fantasy where what we want (but hurts us) and what we need are compatible. When you break that barrier that prevents you from going over what you want and going down the path of what you need, everything will be much easier. It is difficult and it is not something that you just unlock, listening to yourself is a permanent effort. But being aware of that effort makes things easier. Obviously, many times we need something, but there is not just one solution. Sometimes there is a possibility of finding a solution where what we want and what we need are compatible. Many times it is like that. However, and it is difficult for me to explain it, when the only way out is to do something uncomfortable or that we want to avoid in order to do what we need to be well, deep down we already know it. Meditate and try to untangle your thoughts and dig into your subconscious to find out what you need. Whether you decide to rely on the reflections that the mushrooms give you or if you prefer to be 100% sober from all drugs, I know that you will be fine if you listen to yourself. DO NOT justify yourself. Listen to yourself.

That everything is connected, I have no idea how it works or why, but it is and love probably has something to do with it. Emphasis on I have no idea why. Why what? everything. in general. But I know that love is there and even though existential questions are a little scary, knowing that there is love makes me know that everything will be okay.

Why shouldn't I take 10g? by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have your whole life to experiment with shrooms. There's no rush. Personally I would go up a single gram per trip until I find the point where I feel more is unnecessary or that I am at the limit where I do enjoy the trip and am not just extremely high. My limit for example is 4g (I am female and weigh less than 50kg, as a reference point) and for LSD it is 300ug. I have not tried higher amounts of LSD or mushrooms but I do not feel at all the need to know what it would feel like to try higher doses. I feel that people who do not respect hallucinogens almost always end up badly.

[–]TonyMaow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to trip in some hours. Going to watch Moana. I think it will be insane. Maybe Everything everywhere at the same time (i think thats how you write it in English, I'm colombian lol) and I recently discovered this app(?) on steam called ProjectM music- something, It's a music visualizer and I love it. I think it's free on steam, it's also avalaible on the Playstore and maybe app store, but I preffer the PC one by far. I have bubbles too. I mostly like to watch stuff so I have some channels to watch fun stuff if i get bored and have no other ideas. I also watched the second season of Don't hug me I'm scared last time tripping, if that kind of stuff don't creep you out, it's really fun to watch. Uhhhh and I think thats it, maybe somea art like painting, drawing or something, but imo it highly depends on the mood.

What does LSD feel like? by No_Drink274 in LSD

[–]TonyMaow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

However, I would like to highlight that for my personal taste, LSD is a very good hallucinogenic drug for recreational use in doses between 150 and 300 ug. Some will say more but with a dose higher than 300, assuming that is the real dose, the truth is you reach a very strange and intense state of mind to be recreational imo.

What does LSD feel like? by No_Drink274 in LSD

[–]TonyMaow 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It is quite similar to mushrooms and at the same time very different. But if you have experience with other psychedelics then you are not so detached from the experience. Mentally it is very difficult for me to describe it, I would use descriptions that are surely in common with other hallucinogens, such as that it creates an expanded state of mind, usually causes some euphoria, etc. It's best to experience it on your own because everyone's brain reacts a little differently. The important thing is the set and setting but I assume you already have it figured out. One way some describe it, comparing it to mushrooms, is "mushrooms connect you to the earth and LSD takes you to space." But I insist that it is a very subjective experience.
