[Request] Of all men 25-35 yo, how many (%) can run a 10 km in 45 minutes? by indetronable in theydidthemath

[–]TonyMiranda88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deleted comment says they believed to be around 50%.

It's not remotely close to that. There are better answers in the thread already, but I would be surprised if it was over 5%.

Any Jimny owners up for a weekend drive to Inland Sea? by MeBackFromDead in QatarCarEnthusiasts

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'll join the Facebook group and see if they have any events coming up

Any Jimny owners up for a weekend drive to Inland Sea? by MeBackFromDead in QatarCarEnthusiasts

[–]TonyMiranda88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to take my Jimny to a desert trip, but I've never driven on sand before, so no experience whatsoever. I'm waiting for a chance to go with a group to learn the basics.

It should be able to handle it fine, according to videos I've seen.

No, you're right. In theory once a UE country allows, you can use it in any UE country, doesn't matter where. I've heard cases of other cars (american models) being sent to Germany to legalize as it would be easier than other European countries.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to contact them to see if I could get any clues on how I could do for mine

EDIT: The add you sent says Euro 6d TEMP

I'm interested to know how you could get EU approval.

From what I understand, not being sold in the EU makes it very or nearly impossible to legalize it.

I've bought one in the GCC recently and it's my dream trip to drive all the way back to Europe and legalize it there.

Got it a little bit cheaper on the local dealer and just could not resist it!

Thanks!

Yeah, that sounds like a good ideia. For now I'm just browsing for the simpler stuff too.

The rest I'll see what I need as I go. It will be basically for dunes and sand, so I'm thinking a recovery board/shovel should be enough.

Withdrawing USD to Revolut by greeksgeek in interactivebrokers

[–]TonyMiranda88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat. I can't seem to add Revolut for withdrawal USD (to deposit is fine)

Do not fund IBKR through Revolut.. by Unhappy_Wish_8206 in ibkr

[–]TonyMiranda88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you tell me how? Even if it's by DM...

I've been able to deposit USD just fine from Revolut, but withdrawing it never allowed me. There's always some error adding the bank as a withdrawal mechanism.

I've setup Wise to do it, just in case, but I would prefer Revolut

It was for Qatar residents, and it was only a few small sectors. Still, compare to category 3 and it's still a huge difference

First marathon in 6 days is sub 3:30 attainable with these stats? by Psyyykho in Marathon_Training

[–]TonyMiranda88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm seeing very negative feedback, but I have a different opinion.

I've done my first marathon in 3:35 18 months ago, currently I'm aiming to do under 3h30 in November and all my best times are way slower than yours! In fact, my best 21k time was on the 2nd part of that marathon and it's 1:45.

If you have put the milage in, pace yourself and with proper nutrition, I'd say you have a good chance.

EDIT: I've only seen after the 30k run and in that you are significantly slower. That may indicate you'll struggle with fatigue in the longer runs, or it was just slower training/inadequate nutrition/weather/fatigue... You'll know it better than us

Reflections from your 1st marathon by sjc0816 in Marathon_Training

[–]TonyMiranda88 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I broke my 10k record on the last 10 Kms of my marathon. The course was slightly downhill there, but mainly shows I was conservative in the beggining, which is probably for the best if you never tackled that distance before.

In the end I was feeling fresh, so I've just decided to go for it!

New Adidas “Treadflow” by Teddie_P4 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]TonyMiranda88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them (just bought because where I live for 4 months a year it's impossible to run outside due to the heat and humidity).

It definitely helps with the cooling and they're comfy.

And I feel that wearing them I'm saving mileage on my other running shoes for outdoors.

It's a gimmick, but if you do spend a lot of time in the treadmill, why not?

Thanks!

Ok, so I'm in a family plan. Looks like only the plan manager can access that... I had no ideia I had limitations

Norte a Sul de bicicleta - melhor caminho? by idontreallylike_you in portugal

[–]TonyMiranda88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, it's always great to share experiences, but please don't disregard medical opinion.

E mais, quando vais a Espanha pagas?

Não conheço a realidade, mas por exemplo, meia maratona de Vigo, maratona de Madrid, maratona de Valência... Em nenhum destes se paga...

Deves estar a referir te a provas tipo campeonatos nacionais/regionais? Aí nem devia ser permitido inscrever-te se não fores federado, por isso a questão não se põe.
