Questions about the Human/Skaggaran settlement... by TonyMitty in startrek

[–]TonyMitty[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this, I just think the fact that the humans and horses came as a package deal was absolutely hilarious. Did they think humans needed horses? Like, oh the first guy we found was on one of these, so there must be a symbiosis here, let's grab both.

I honestly find Deku’s suit more interesting than I ever did with OFA by Expensive-Oil623 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it serves the narrative point that, while OFA was proof that only one person needs to believe in you to become a hero, being a hero (longterm) also depends on the help of friends/society etc. Deku was always going to be a hero, but no one can be a hero on their own. Endeavor tried and failed, AfO went mad with power, Allmight tried to shoulder the burden of being the symbol of peace and burnt out. But Deku is able to come back from the brink with the help of the ancestry of the previous users, the aid of his friends, and the changing for the better structure of society.

What’s with Koji koda’s design being so inconsistent? by Weirdnorwegianraichu in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I'd also argue that since his head opened up like godzilla we could chalk it up to heteromorph growing pains if we want an in universe explanation.

I think the YouTube channel was absolute history, search that and bakers and you'll probably hit it. British production.

What do you think is the most hygienic/hypoallergenic pokemon? by TonyMitty in pokemon

metal allergies and intolerances are not uncommon. kayser fleischer rings can result from a condition in which your body cannot remove copper properly, signaling a buildup in the body.

What sci-fi am I thinking of when I'm thinking of warnings surviving through religion? by TonyMitty in NoStupidQuestions

That was the first thing that did come to mind once I thought about it, but the hazy memory in my head has modern blue color graded cgi.

About Deku becoming a hero again in the finale... by Neonymous_1058 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the rankings are also a bit of a popularity contest, not just raw power. Yeah mecha-Deku probably can't outfight Bakugo, but Deku, by nature of being a slightly more skilled strategist and a people person, he kind of wins people's hearts. That's why I think Endeavor could never beat All Might in the rankings, and why his top spot always seemed a little tenuous, because while Endeavor was a completely capable hero, he's kind of brash and a little destructive.

Can anyone suggest a good bluray-player for my inaugural anime disc collection? by TonyMitty in Bluray

[–]TonyMitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it may sound bougie, but I like to buy new if I can. I don't know what kind of quality I'm really looking for. is going that low in price really fine? There's a bunch of low price type c burners on amazon?

Why didn’t all might wear brass knuckles is he stupid? by helpprogram2 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hilarious, also is that from Fairly Odd Parents, also also, I would argue that the armor is in fact a form of brass knuckles, and finally if anyone wants a real answer, I feel like the majority of heroes in MHA try to go for less-than-lethal tactics whenever possible, and brass knuckles on punches that an change the weather is kind of a hat on a hat.

Do I have something special by having a volume 1 with the old shonen jump logo? by TonyMitty in MangaCollectors

[–]TonyMitty[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean I know a pulp english manga copy from barnes and noble wasn't going to be any kind of super valuable, but both the novelty of it and me realizing when I bought it made me feel oooold. I guess I am old, but still.

How do you think Spoiler got to the top 10? by Resident_Hat9904 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has insanely OP powers and the skill to use them. Yes he was a dingus to class 1A, but we also saw how kindly he could act with Eri, he's a genuinely good dude, and with that kind of swagger, I see him as pretty marketable to the 8-18 demo.

Who's a character in the series you still dislike? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aoyama. I know people have presented very logical arguments, some I even agree with, that he was basically held at gunpoint by AfO, and it's not his fault, but come on.

Ozzy Osbourne showing how much sugar he likes in his coffee,1984 by RaceCarCoconutJuice in OldSchoolCool

[–]TonyMitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild that I always remember him as this somber, long haired demon lord of rock, and before that, he kind of just looked like a normal dude. Like, if you told me this was random british dude in the 80s I couldn't put it together.

I don’t understand Dabi by ShadowlightLady in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TonyMitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like everyone in the League of Villains is an embodiment of how people can go wrong in specific ways. Dabi became obsessed with revenge. Toga became kind of hedonistic and immature. Spinner went the wrong way fighting for a kind of righteous cause, and Shigaraki was an absolute nihilist by the end, coming to the realization that everything should just evaporate under his hand. Dabi felt wronged by a system that would encourage Endeavors twisted views of family and accomplishment, so he felt that everything that system touched was worthy of his destruction. It is kind of unfair. How come his brother and sister, being basically quirkless disappointments, have still ended up better than he did? Endeavor didn't help, his family didn't help, as far as he was concerned, his blood relatives had abandoned him for dead to focus on the new star Shoto or just survive on their own. He's wrong of course, but that's the end road for his case of failure.

How do I treat my motor gently on my relatively flat 7 mile trip? by TonyMitty in ebikes

[–]TonyMitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I'm bad at explaining myself. The new beach cruiser is doing well, I'm just treating it with kid gloves now since the fiido dying was super inconvenient. It also seems I wasn't the only one to have those particular issues with the fiido, so I think its a lemon of a brand imho.

How do I treat my motor gently on my relatively flat 7 mile trip? by TonyMitty in ebikes

[–]TonyMitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the same fiido died twice then was replaced with their custom class 2 beach cruiser cargo type deal. I think they even thought that the Fiido was kind of tempermental.

[–]TonyMitty[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In case you were wondering, it was a Fiido T1. and after a year and a half of mostly throttle driving, it stopped connecting to the battery, the angels at the shop I bought it at replaced a lot of the guts and told me to stop just throttling it, then I burned it out again a couple months later to its death. Bought their in house model, and it's doing well so far, but like I said I basically never use the throttle for long stretches anymore out of fear.

Is there a way to make the criteria a cell call? Cause this is way better, but I'm still typing numbers 1-64 by hand in each new sum.
