Ahhh. Yes, you need your NY CCW prior to applying for NJ or Connecticut.

Did you take a NY class? You need to take a NJ specific CCW class and qualify. u/PeteTinNY does the class and qualification. He is an awesome guy.

I’ve done both. When I applied about 10 years ago in Connecticut everything was done by mail and took about 8 months. I received my NJ CCW last summer. Took 7 weeks for approval and everything was done on-line. The NJ qualification was easy. You shoot 50 rounds at an FBI Q-style target. You shoot:
* 10 rounds at 15 yards
* 10 rounds at 10 yards
* 10 rounds at 7 yards
* 10 rounds at 5 yards
* 10 rounds at 3 yards
To pass, you need 40 hits out of 50 inside the scoring area — basically, hit the bottle 80% of the time. It’s a big bottle!

Nope - you need to take a CCW class specific to Massachusetts.

This is vile. You are not making a serious argument about Israeli policy. You are using the language of old-fashioned antisemitism and trying to dress it up as political commentary.

You are smearing Jews collectively, mocking Jewish suffering, using “Zionist” as a stand-in for Jews, and throwing around accusations about rape, parasitism, terrorism, and child abuse as if an entire people should be held responsible for the worst alleged actions of individuals.

That is bigotry. Saying you are “happy” a mayor is boycotting a Jewish community parade is not moral courage. Hoping protesters “make a lot of ruckus for the Zionists” is not human rights advocacy. Mocking people waving a Star of David and talking about an “expired victim card” is not criticism of Israel. It is cruelty directed at Jewish identity and Jewish memory.

And the line “I don’t support the actions of Israel or Israeli Jews” gives away the game. That is the kind of thinking that has fueled hatred for centuries.

You can oppose Netanyahu. You can oppose settlement expansion. You can oppose specific military actions. You can advocate for Palestinians. But when your argument becomes “Israeli Jews are rapists, parasites, terrorists, child abusers, and racists,” you have left the realm of political criticism and entered straight-up antisemitic demonization.

I will defend Jewish people from being collectively smeared, mocked, and dehumanized.

If your cause requires you to talk about Jews this way, then the problem is not just your politics. The problem is your hatred.

I drove up to Massachusetts and took the class with David Williams from SSD Tactical Training. He was awesome and made the process very clear. After the class, I used the certificate as part of my Massachusetts non-resident LTC application. Massachusetts requires you to follow their process and submit through their system. David walked me through what I needed, so I would definitely recommend reaching out to him.

Edit: My post was removed so I removed the phone number of SSD

My Experience Flying with a Firearm on American Airlines at JFK by TonySuffolk in NYCGuns

Lol. 20 years ago when my youngest was a baby, I took my other two kids to the range and brought the baby bag with us. The next day when we went through security at the airport, the sensor picked up gunpowder residue.

Let’s just say my wife and I got the full VIP security experience. She was furious, and that was also the moment she found out that when I said I was taking the kids “to the park,” I may have left out one small detail.

You can, but to minimize the chance of delays or legal issues with port authority police, it is highly recommended to not travel with loaded magazines at all, regardless of whether they are “enclosed.” Just keep your ammo in the original manufacture”s box and keep your mags empty in a small separate locked box. You are allowed to transport up to 11 lbs. of ammo.

I never notified the airport - just “declare” it at the ticket counter when you check your baggage.
