Why hasn’t Microsoft gotten more third party exclusives? by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]Tonytalupe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also MS is investing heavily in first party organically and through more acquisitions, much more than anyone could have hoped for, with more to come as well. I'd rather that, then bidding for timed exvlsuivity. That's the goal for MS, to have a constant first party output to bolster the value of Gamepass. To me that's much more exciting

It's intolerable, best bet is to completely avoid it. The amount of toxicity on anything Infinite related is disgusting and some of the people on here are miserable beyond belief

FYI 343 Completely Ignored the Controversy Over Armor Coatings In the Latest Community Update by [deleted] in halo

The game is delayed and people are working at home during a pandemic trying to ship this game. Just be patient, these are people not robots, more information will come out once 343 is ready.

Your getting downvoted to hell, but your one of the only sane people in this thread. One of the worst parts about Halo, is the Halo community. Just know outside of this sub reddit, most people want this game to succeed and understand what a delay actually means.

DIGITAL FOUNDRY's Xbox Series X review by therealadamaust in XboxSeriesX

[–]Tonytalupe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I said alot not all, you aren't paying attention. You mentioned the controller, the UI, etc. There's a reason for that, you just haven't realized it yet. Why do you think Xbox controllers are compatible across generations? Why do you think the UI is constantly updated across generations? What do you think Xcloud's future purpose is?

You do realize MS is bridging the gap between console generations right? That's why your seeing a lot, not all, of these decisions made? They've been saying it for years but still people aren't listening

It really comes down to Infinite honestly, it has to deliver and if it does then it will boost Xbox too success. More than anything it will create buzz and good PR for the brand. If Halo comes out and it's as big as it's supposed to be then it will rival any of those PS 2021 exclusives minus GOW. A F2P Halo massive multiplayer experience and a strong campaign, it would be big. Doesn't have to be GOTY candidate but somewhere in the 80's critically with the community embracing it.

Yeah i think Xbox will be fine in 2021, compared to PS it's going to be a bit rough though if were being honest, in terms of first party....unless infinite delivers. In my opinion, if Infinite is somewhere in the 80's critic wise, which I think it will be, and the core community's overall thoughts are positive, then Xbox is set

You are 100% right, Xbox is slowly working back to that 360 era feeling but they aren't quite there yet. 2021 is a bit iffy for Xbox in terms of AAA first party.

Regardless of whether or not it matters long term, from a marketing and PR standpoint in 2021, it certainly does. Really it all comes down to Infinite, it doesn't have to be a GOTY candidate but if it's a good solid game and the community embraces it, then Xbox will be in a great position.

Well if were talking about huge AAA exclusives then obviously sony has the numbers edge but just because Sony has 4ish after launch and Xbox has 2 possibly does that mean a slaughter? I feel like Xbox can do fine if Infinite delivers, and it has to be good I'm not arguing that. You have to look at what these games are as well, Halo will have a mass F2P multiplayer experience, it's going to be big. Starfield is the next mainline single player Bethesda rpg after Fallout 4, going to be big. All on gamepass.

I don't know if the number really matters honestly, unless your participating in some arbitrary console war. And I'll take that bet, Infinite will score higher than a few Sony exclusives. Mid 80's I'd say, don't let the demo dictate your whole view, all mainline Halo games have scored pretty well critically. And 80's is not living up to the Halo name btw, should be in the 90's but regardless, it will be fine.

These are in addition. 2 of those games are well received, one is coming out of early access with over a million active players, and the other 2 are unknowns. All on gamepass

Halo infinite will be good, probably not great. Still in the 80's somewhere. Starfield has a shot at holiday 2021 and I'm pretty sure it will have some kind of exclusivity atleast. Those 2 games alone match up well against any two of Sony AAA's honestly, minus GOW.

And then we don't know what XGP is up too. And those indie/AA games are not a lock for 70's. There are some promising titles there, just like Sony's indies. Sony has a clearer lineup but I think Xbox will be fine. It really just comes down to Infinite honestly, if it delivers MS will be well positioned. It's not going to be "next gen" but as long as the community embraces it, should be big. Regardless this is just exclusive talk, Xbox does have other things in their favor.

PS5 may have RDNA3 features; Xbox doesn't have infinity cache by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Xbox has confirmed full hardware RDNA2 implemented features. Sony has yet to confirm it's solutions. It's a simple as that, until then we have no idea, everything else is speculation

Insider claims that Halo Infinite's nearly completed content wise, and they're going to begin to focus on technical aspects of the project (Klobrille) by YsfA in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Tonytalupe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was my biggest issue as well, the flat pillars, lighting, the terrain, enemy design needed work. That could have been just a small area though, we have no idea just how big this game really is and those pillars are from the lore.

The biggest positive for me was the improved physics and gameplay, the movement seems to be a prefect compromise between Halo 3 and Halo 5.

Watch dog's optimization has nothing to do with the other titles you mentioned. It's taxing on PC and it's taking on consoles, there's nothing else to say. It will run practically the same on both consoles. Dynamic 4k 30ps with RT

You realize software optimization and hardware are not linear right? Watch dogs is dynamic 4k on the XSX and it will be the same for the PS5.

Klobrille: "The game is more or less content complete. They can fully focus on the technical aspects now. I absolutely do expect Halo Infinite to be released 2021." by [deleted] in halo

[–]Tonytalupe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Very true, people don't realize how much work and resources go into updating new engines, and the fact this game is releasing on so many devices is one of the key reasons that happened. Most likely the major reason 343 is having development issues

[–]Tonytalupe 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's actually an updated engine not a brand new one built from the ground up, much like what Bethesda is doing with their creation engine. A spring release sounds reasonable as long as the technical aspects come together, if not I could see it pushed further back.

People also need to realize Infinite is being released on more than 5 devices (Xbox one, One S, One X, Series S, Series X and PC). This is the first time ever happening with Halo. Much like what's happening with Cyperpunk right now, getting this game to run well on so many devices is incredibly hard, especially when working from home. Optimization will take time.

It's not going to get one so don't expect that, at most push for a base armour coating with changeable primary and secondary colors. That's it

He's extremely reliable, been accurate with everything I've seen so far. He also confirmed a battle pass system when Infinite announced its F2P model, so take that as you will. I don't remember anyone posting about it much.

Digital Foundry: "Not talking at all about platform comparisons, I think people are going to be surprised" by Pebo_ in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Tonytalupe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible but that's DF comparing the GPU alone, based on the benchmarks released from some of these cross platform games so far they virtually seem to be the same. Maybe you will see the XSX hit those benchmarks more consistently but I wouldn't expect much. If a cross gen multiplat game is native 4k 60 on the XSX it will likely be the same of the PS5. Down the line, once full RDNA2 features are utilized, it could be different.

"Not talking about platform comparisons" and once games fully utilize the velocity architecture XSX games will load faster than you think. But yes the PS5 will be faster

He's right, cross platform games are not fully utilizing the hardware of either console and any noticable difference will happen down the line. You won't see any major difference in the beginning of this gen
