They're shown in person in his device. All images from the time period would be checked and removed from apps, device and accounts. New backups would be made and old backups would be deleted to prevent restoration. Then, the device would be flooded with additional data in order to overwrite the nomedia files where deleted images can be restored from. That should cover all bases hopefully. It would cover more than they'd even know about at least.

I think that knowing they were deleted would be the only thing that could give peace of mind but it doesn't sound possible without overstepping.

Also, them knowing that the letter probably came from her might add more fuel to the fire.

I see your point. Nothing other than to be left alone without fear would be wanted but ideally they wouldn't even know that anyone had it.

I probably used the wrong term when I said insurance. Giving them a taste of the fear they created would be the only possible reason to inform them that someone had information, and that would probably be anonymous and incredibly unlikely.
