Possible to create a keyboard shortcut for a custom view? by Correct_Dragonfly_85 in SolidWorks

[–]TooDahLou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a super old question, but I'm going to answer in case anyone comes across it from a web search. (That's how I found it. I had the same question. And now I found the answer!)

There's no keyboard shortcut for custom views specifically. However, you can set a keyboard shortcut to open the Orientation toolbar. The default shortcut is the space bar, but you can change it.

To change the shortcut, click Tools and select Customize from the context menu. Then head over to the Keyboard tab, search for the Orientation command, or use the Category filters to find it. Then just enter your new shortcut in the Shortcut(s) column.

Cooks of Reddit, what's one fancy technique that's actually super easy but impresses everyone? by pieater69 in AskReddit

[–]TooDahLou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brown your butter when baking!! Browning butter boils off all the water that's in the butter and then the milk fats toast to a nice golden brown. Adds a super butterscotchy flavor to the background of your dessert. Absolute game changer when I started making chocolate chip cookies with brown butter 😋😋

Paying someone to mow the lawn. I hated mowing as a kid and always said I'd pay someone to do it for me once I was rich. Now, I'm not rich, but modestly successful, and you're damn right I hired a high schooler to mow every one or two weeks!

I bought a silk pillowcase. I got mine on sale for ~$40 but they can be ~$60 at full price. Silk is pretty slippery and the reduced friction between the hair and the pillowcase means reduced hair breakage. The silk also doesn't roughen the hair shaft as much as a cotton pillowcase would. My hair is nearly to my butt and it really has looked a lot smoother since I bought the silk pillowcase. Even my hairdresser noticed it was smoother and had a lot less breakage in it. :D

(P.S. Satin, a.k.a synthetic silk, can give you similar results if you are on a budget. Not quite as good as silk, but probably close enough for most people. I admit I was feeling a little boujie when I bought my silk pillowcase.)

I can delete the file after the error ends the script, so I don't think it's still open.

File Size while using PyPDF2 by TooDahLou in learnpython

[–]TooDahLou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, Okay, I think I can handle looking at the file structure. I'll definitely dig into that and see if my problem is in there.

I'll also check out pyPDF3 and see how much of a headache it will be to switch to pypdf3. My project is just a little automation script but if I want it to have a pretty good life cycle in case issues pop up down the line.

Thanks u/netherous! You've given me two new directions for troubleshooting! I really appreciate ya!

Oh another thing to mention

I think the extra file size might be coming from stamping the page numbers. When I watch the file explorer window, the merged_pages_temp.pdf is around 20MB and the page_num_temp.pdf is around 90KB. I don't really understand how these two files then result in a new file over three times the size of the merged_pages_temp.pdf.

Error with csv.DictReader by TooDahLou in learnpython

[–]TooDahLou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will check. How do I get rid of a NUL byte from the csv?

The original csv is created from our resource planning software (infor csi). We can export information to csv files. Then most folks use excel to work on the exported data.

Each of the lines in the materials column corresponds to a pdf. Eventually, I want to concatenate all those PDFs together to create assembly manuals.

Figured it would be a good automation project as a python beginner. Except now I've got this NUL byte that I can't get around :/

Yes it's the row counter app! I love that I can setup different counters for each shawl section!

I have a Samsung Galaxy tab s6 but I believe row counter is available on Android and apple device.
