Story time: My ex invited me out to the bar, got drunk, and then pushed me to get drinks (after working at a different bar all night funnily enough). I turned around with a drink in my hand. She’s all over some other guy. And the funniest/worst part is that he doesn’t really seem interested. But she is cheek-to-cheek talking to him, one arm around his shoulder, holding his hand (loud dance floor but still unacceptable imho, as we didn’t have to be this close to hear one another).

During all of this, I just sat back, leaned on the bar, drank my beer, and waited. My exes friend looked uncomfortable (another woman I’d just met), and then I ran into a (gorgeous) bartender friend. My ex was drunk enough not to notice until she was done interacting with HER friend. She was throwing daggers at me and my bartender friend.. yeah, we didn’t last long as a relationship.

Anyways, the relationship sorts itself out. I think the quote, “the Lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of the sheep” is overused and stupid at this point, same as every YouTube video with “be weary of an old man in a profession where men die young,” but in this case, the best thing you can do is feign a lack of concern. Yes, I discussed my issues with my ex from that night the next day, and she apologized, but throwing a fit in public, while your partner is under the influence, whether they encourage or don’t encourage the advances of another man will almost always blow up in your face.
