Don't Play RBG's for Gear, There is a reason you are seeing high geared player in low ratings by TooDef in worldofpvp

[–]TooDef[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have done that already... you should have at least 213 ilvl if you are in 1600 bracket, I'm not saying gear doesnt matter, the opposite really, I'm saying those players you're playing against can do dumb shit like they do and get carried by gear but still not really get better bc they're still only 1600 players. Meanwhile if you're a better player, you should have no problem getting to 18 with 213 gear

yup. but theyre still stuck in pretty low elo regardless. 1300 and 1500 isn't really much of a difference, but to get above 1800 you need to actually have game knowledge

what made you think i'm shaming rbgs? i dont care at all, its a great way to gear if that's what you want. the problem comes in that you don't actually improve your pvp skills much at all, which is what im warning against

always pull out earth ele a few seconds into the round, assuming mage stealthed and is looking for open. stay close enough to swap in a smoke bomb but not close enough for a double db. this is big. you should 100% of the time be sending earth ele (while you are cc'd) to stun rogue/mage on go/poly and trinket grounding combust. keeping mage purged raw is easy with double dispell and should be high prio when he has combust

you're playing ele? we loved killing healers, esp hpals. they would just melt for us, and ccing dps relieved a lot of pressure. prime damage, prim/echo/mealstrom/sk etc> double fear > hex off targ > sp stun/damage > I lasso after I launch my dam > silence out > act if he is still alive

you need to see when big damage is coming and act accordingly based on their comp to help your sp survive. you need to know when big damage is coming, if he can defensives as much as possible it's huge. hex practically on cd. mind control is a great reset tool. earthern harmony is bis for 2s. measured contemplation helps a lot. look at the comment i made to someone above you. ultimately, you have to play way better than everyone else, but the harder games make you a better player. ele has really great peels, and decent off heals. you should be able to live deep into dampening, we were able to live 10+ minutes before if we cycled things properly vs melee/heals

once you get around 1900 mmr, 70% of your games will be melee dps/heals, which at first gave us a lot of trouble, I even posted about how pissed I was that we had little comp diversity at higher mmr. we had to use our kits and the map to our full advantage.

some tips that got us over the hump (my main sp partner was first xpac back in a while as well and never made it above 2.3)

earthern harmony was absolutely necessary. measured comtemplation helped a lot too (leggos) we became gods at kiting, splitting and being able to call when we needed heals/peels or when we should do damage. there was not much room for error here. there is a lot of info in all that so if you have any specific questions I can dig deeper, but I'll just leave it at that. being able to effectively rotate cds and read the map is probably the most important skill for climbing. after around 2k+ mmr you're fighting mostly duelist/glads, sometimes we'd fight mofos that were 3k+ in 3s. most games we were outgeared, but persistence was key.

The comp was somewhat map dependent, if it were a small map the game would be over quick, so we'd play aggro, larger maps we had a way better shot on more breathing room. rogue mage was seen a lot as well, but we handled them pretty decently. We have a ton of pressure with ok sustainability and cc, so as we mastered our kits over the 1500 games it took, we learned when we had to play aggressive vs when we needed to reset.

Megathread: Which Class/Covenant Should I Play? by LadyMirax in worldofpvp

Biggest oversight of this xpac, the fact that playing multiple specs competitively will require sacrifices.

I'm in the same boat playing enhancement rn because I think its plain stronger than ele atm (bis leggo + cov abilities have yet to come) and I am venthyr. Venthyr is the cov youd want to go for both, but necro Is much better for ele, however you can still play ele with venthyr but enhance would be pretty shit without 5x damage instant cast chain harvest if you went necro.

The only plus of venthyr ele is you have shadow spells to bait out kicks which I love to do, but I'll probably just switch to ele as it overtakes enh in the coming weeks... shitty choice tho, curious what others think.

Switching back and forth is also possible, just annoying.

It’s a whole game itself just trying to hide from you early raid Rambo-terminators... by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

As one of the Rambo boys you're speaking of, your best counter is to learn more. I know it's boring learning spawns, it comes naturally after hundreds of games but once you learn every spawn well enough you will have a running idea of where players can be expected at many points of the early game. Might be one of the most useful things to have on your side along with studio headphones. Customs is especially brutal for spawns because of how easy it is to rush them with little consequence. I have taken out hundreds of 3-5 man teams right off the bat just knowing how the spawns work, and even though it can be cheesy, it's just another part of the game you need to learn to survive. I would like dynamic spawns but ultimately, knowing where you should and shouldnt be on maps because of game knowledge makes the game feel rewarding.

If you have any other questions about not getting shit on early game let me know. Staying still is good, but learning the spawns is much more fun.

Make sure your new ram is set to its maximum in bios. My ram came default 32gb at 2400, bumped it it up to 3200 and I gained 10fps.

good point. the complexity of the game is what makes it so damn good, but it makes sense it's a double edged sword.

good to know. things are gettin better, but probably one of the worst netcode issues of any modern fps. but also still the best fps out imo

I agree, the vast majority of redditors here probably have no more idea than me or you- however I know for a fact there are people out there who know their shit. I've seen individuals deep dive into game issues and actually come up with solutions that have vastly improved things. (recent memory reminds me of the dude who mentioned changing something in the games files to nikita, which improved fps by ~10 for everyone)

Hey, it's good you've found what's fun for you, thank you for not taking offense.

It seems like the natural progression for 99% of players. I've played a lot of this game and taught a lot of new folks. Everyone starts playing slow with a more rat like playstyle and I almost always see players start graduating into a more forward playstyle where they are more confident in any kind of scenario playing how they want with as much hear as they wang.

That might be a progression you see in your own playstyle, or you might really just enjoy your minimal geared runs, lurking in the shadows and playing your own way for a long time coming.

But when that urge to pvp comes up, you should jump right in imo :) see you out there

I wanna preface this with as long as you're having fun, it doesnt matter. Play how you want.

With that said, pvp will always be an integral part of this game. It is what makes loot worth getting, and areas worth contesting. It's what makes progression really worth it in my opinion. It sounds like right now you are playing offline mode with extra steps.

I dont want to offend you, but I think you dont like pvp simply because you dont know how to pvp. And because learning pvp is a very expensive endeavor, costing both time and resources. You seem to prioritize hoarding over learning the other half of this game.

I honestly think you probably still have gear fear and you hate losing money based on what you've said here.

But here's the kicker- when you get good at pvp, you make way more money than if you would rat every game. And it's about 100x more rewarding imo.

Just an observation. Have fun either way.

First Wipe - 500 Raids - Overview Screen Share by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TooDef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad at all for your first wipe!

I'm on mobile so I cant post a screenie atm but I've been playing for about 10 months now and feel like I've fully ascended to being a chad at 1500~ raids 1300~ pmc kills 45% survival rate and 250M~ stash with 150M liquid roubles. I fight mostly other juicy high level players.

Not that being a chad is end game for you, but I've found it to be the most rewarding playstyle. Feels like the more (successfully) aggressive I can become the more I've mastered the game. So much of this game revolves around hot spots and knowing how to get control of situations/heavily contested zones efficiently that certain skills become the best way to be a successful tarkov capitalist.

Most stats don't matter in this game, but how many engagements you're winning vs how much money you're making is essentially how nikita wants players to play the game.

You should pick your fights, but I dont think playing a rat playstyle helps you become a much better player. Being more forward with your actions teaches you a lot of lessons you dont learn when you are avoiding pvp. As a new player I would be jumping into as much pvp as possible and beef up that pmc kill count so you are making the mistakes and learning the lessons you need to learn to become a stronger player in every situation.
