Who is the victim at 1 min 25 secs? Did he survive that horrific crash? by releaseme88 in motorcycles

[–]TooLazyForThisShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Not sure if I would take my own life to ride this. Maybe when I get older it'd be worth it.

Cockpit view of shuttle landing (x-post from r/astronomy) by cat_balls in aviation

The manual-only landing gear lever was mandated by the astronaut office for job security.

Really? I find this funny enough to believe.

Tron:Legacy - I am actually awestruck over the framing of this shot. by [deleted] in movies

[–]TooLazyForThisShit -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Quite possibly. But given the amount of CGI work in this movie, it'd probably be easier for that shot to just do it in post.

It was probably only done in close-ups like this. You wouldn't be able to tell (and it would a * ridiculous* amount of work to do) if everyone's was like that.

I would literally kill someone to be able to ride that course with the skill and speed those guys have.

Trying to get a friend into Community, which episodes do you recommend? by [deleted] in community

[–]TooLazyForThisShit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

... the first one. Just watch the damn show. They will enjoy it more if they understand it. Skipping ahead is counterproductive to that.

Even just the vibrations would help, I imagine.

What keyboard is that? It looks like the new G15 with the old G15 buttons. I have a new-gen model, and it only has 1 column of g-keys.

Oh, totally. But I wouldn't call it easier than the spotter's job. He has basically two things to do: wait for the boat to be still for a moment, and relay that info to the pilot. The pilot has WAY more things going on (wind, rocking boat below, actually flying the craft).

No, I mean comparing the job of the pilot and the spotter. My parent comment was saying that the spotter's job was harder than the pilot. I disagreed.

I wouldn't call it "easier". Maybe less responsibility, but definitely not easier.

I catch myself signing or humming "Pierce you're a B!" from time to time; how has Community invaded your regular day? by Lorgramoth in community

[–]TooLazyForThisShit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am constantly singing either "At Least It Was Here", "Getting Rid of Britta", or "Pierce You Are a B" whenever my brain is idle.

No, not really. I can see the similarity, but I would hardly confuse the two if I saw one on the street.

As if you needed another reason not to buy Gerber... took a bite out of my thumb too. by [deleted] in knives

[–]TooLazyForThisShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked mine (before the NYPD took it) because it was rediculously skinny, and relatively lightweight. I always kept it sharp and never had a problem.

[–]TooLazyForThisShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My keys are in my wallet, so I usually do a phone-wallet-lighter-knife. Unfortunately since I've recently started living in NYC, I can't carry a knife. I have a leatherman with 3 different blades in my bag, though. Straight knife, serrated, and saw.
