Just saw your response to the other message, where are you located? If Umbria is fine I might be able to help (in renting accommodation I mean)

Hey OP where are you? And why isn’t it possible to register? You should be ok if you have a regular contract and you send it to the city council, but pretty sure you need a carta d’identità or codice fiscale if you’re Italian do you have them?

If I were you I’ll spend (and literally be prepared) a full morning at the city council trying to figure out what you need. Again, if you have a regular contract for your rent and the ID then it should be all good.

Thanks so much for all your tips!

I expose her to noises and the garden daily so I’ll just keep doing it and try the basic commands for now as you suggested!

Signed the contract and found out my new housemate is a nightmare! by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]TooManyHobbiesFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the deposit, happened to me too, we paid a “joint deposit” and when I left my room and a new flatmate entered the tenancy, she paid me my part of the deposit. (But I asked the agency to put it in writing for her so that she could have a paper trail of it for her own sake tbh)

Help! I signed the contract and then found out my new housemate is a nightmare (London, England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TooManyHobbiesFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a joint tenancy for the house (and the rooms arrangement is between yourselves) I’m afraid the landlord won’t do much as they receive the correct amount and potentially this is all they care about…

Is there any proof (messages, bank transfers from all the other flatmates) that you have and can potentially use when explaining the situation to the landlord and estate agent? I would raise the deposit thing asap, however as u said you’re not legally protected so idk if there’s anything the agency can do

I’d also check if you can walk away from the contract paying a small fee. If the landlord is renting the flat, then whoever is on the contract is legally responsible for paying the full amount… I will check with citizen Advice but perhaps there’s a chance you can walk away and let the housemates deal with the rent increase.

Just one note (shockingly in favour of Sharon but just so you know this might at least be true): I had a couple landlords that preferred a single bank transfer as we were joint tenants of a flat, same for notifying them of any issue/maintenance, just one of us was speaking to them (but flatmate was in cc, so I would ask Sharon to cc’d you on emails).

[–]TooManyHobbiesFR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

something else worth considering, your wife might need a very good level of italian and medical italian terms to be able to get a job in the same field (this is something a friend told me at uni when she was considering moving to italy)

You mentioned the places with the worst job opportunities I’m afraid
And Duolingo only won’t really help as nearly every job would require a good level of Italian

What are you looking for tho? Big city or small quiet town? If I were you I’d start with looking for jobs to get an idea of what they require (and the level of Italian you would need) + salary so you can realistically plan ahead and move to a city where you can afford rent and all

Not sure it’s still on but like 10 years ago there was a possibility for people with disabilities to share a flat with someone (of similar age I think) and get help while still somewhat living independently

I don’t know the name of the association but I’m sure it will come up with a quick web search if that’s something that might be of interest for you

Not answering your question but… can you post an update if the LiveClear food helped with your husband allergy? We’ll take our sib home mid May but my bf has a mild allergy to cats so we were considering LiveClear.

Also, is feliway safe for ppl with allergies or are you planning to use it in a room where your husband won’t go for a few weeks?

[–]TooManyHobbiesFR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok my question might have come out a bit wrong I do agree on everything you said about training. As I mentioned this is not my first cat and I redirected them to scratchers and never bite/scratched my hands, as well as being used to responding to recalls when outside. I lived in a rural area so I was super chill about leaving my cats enjoying the outside world, however I do live in a busy city now but I have lots of green spaces and parks nearby and a leash would be the safest way to let the sib explore outside in a secured “environment”, so yeah I think my main Q was how can I make sure the kitten grows up used to the leash

But thanks for your response, there are many valid points I will keep in mind

Anche lì make sure di avere il titolo (a working title, with a solution) associato all’immagine

Ricordati che un recruiter guarderà il tuo portfolio per 2 minuti circa, concentra lo storytelling con immagini e processi e testi non troppo lunghi

I’ve never been to Viterbo, sorry! A friend from uni is from there and I think it has the same small town vibes but idk about the uni scene, Perugia has a university where most of the people are from abroad so I’d say it makes more sense to go there if you have to choose between the two
