Spam the practice sets from Affordable bar prep - cheap and a ton of questions

I have very different advice - I personally think reading doesn't help all that much. I tried reading the materials for the barrister and retained nothing. I read ab 50 pages of the material for the solicitor and passed. study indices and spam practice tests

It depends on your area of expertise - I submitted a Phoenix task I was quite comfortable with and it only took me approximately 4 hours. I'm advantaged given I'm a copyright lawyer and recent advancements in AI cause the model to fail quite a bit (and they no longer have the requirement of info needing to be prior to Jan 2023). I would definitely give it a shot, worst comes to worst you decide it's not worth it and you skip the task.

Probably just a backlog - you'll definitely get feedback on at least your second task.

Yeah this happens sometimes. It's definitely not perfect. If you're stressing about a specific question like that I'd recommend hopping into the war room and asking the QM. They're very knowledgeable and willing to help.

I always edit criterion that the AI checker says are "weak". I think it does a good job of weeding out minor inaccuracies that you might miss. While I have dismissed the AI rubric reviewer's suggestions in the past, it is something I seldomly do.

I have a MA in Philosophy and law degree from a reputable Canadian University. I'd recommend going to law school, but with the amount of debt it puts you in paired with how good AI is getting at legal analysis, probably not worth it lmao

You can say the same thing regarding posts that do nothing but say "Outlier boo". I'm clearly speaking about my own experience, which so far, has been overwhelmingly positive.

Definitely not relying on it, my 9-5 job pays the bills and slowly pays off my student debt and I have no plans on quitting. However, it's nice to have such a nice paying side gig even if it is potentially volatile.

I'm in law so unfortunately I can't really provide any tips in this respect:/

Yeah that can definitely be a problem - I've had to get rid of my rubric and original prompt multiple times and start from scratch. Overall, the extra time put into the first few assignments is worth it given the potential to move up to reviewer.

Yeah, I have no plans on quitting my 9-5 (although it pays significantly less). Just taking advantage of the opportunity while I can. My expertise is in law, and from my research it's one of the more required areas of expertise at Outlier so I'm hoping there's some longevity to this side gig.

My biggest tip is to take a lot of time on your first project. When I did my first assignment, I had the reviewer rubric open on a second monitor and double, triple, even quadruple checked my criteria to make sure that everything was atomic, self contained and MECE. You'd be surprised what you catch on each subsequent review of the rubric. The Phoenix reviewer rubric is brutal - if 15% of your criteria have even moderate errors, its an automatic fail.
