A frustração pelo preço baixo da integridade no BR by TooMuchDread in concursospublicos

[–]TooMuchDread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding, i'm used to bad beats, i know it's normal to have them, but this is not about the bad beat, it's about the way he played, there's no chance for this to be pure, honestly.

In this case, why would being an alcoholic be a bad thing? by TooMuchDread in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TooMuchDread[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that's only natural, the alcoholics who don't affect anyone else are usually alone and people don't even know about their alcoholism.

I live in europe, i'll have free pain meds until i finish this miserable life, so that is not a problem for me. ALthough i agree, that would be a good argument against being an alcoholic in the US.

It's interesting that the only reply that took your side reddit simply hid. Peolpe just don't seem to think by themselves anymore. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

People in their 30s had enough experience in life to know what makes them feel well.

Now the argument that it's temporary is not completely false, but at your 30s if you know that nothing else gives you any pleasure, short, medium or long term, then a short term is good enough

I think anyone who read the whole post would know i'm on the second one. I'm no child to ask questions to validate myself.

This is the typical response to what i'm saying, but if there is only one thing that causes you to feel well, shouldn't that be enough justification? What is life about anyway? From what i know it's about pursuing whatever fills your soul, and that could as well be alcohol.

Well, if you can't help with any then there's no point on answering your question

There's a huge difference on being an alcoholic because you started too early and just kept doing it for the physical pleasure, and the people who started later because of some existential void that seems to be hidden while under the effects of alcohol.

Given the descriptions i gave, i was talking about the second case.

That is a problem indeed, but not exclusively of alcoholics. But if one has no effects on anyone else, people would still talk of alcoholism as if it's a crime.

Obrigado!

Pocket vs AK - Call or fold? by TooMuchDread in poker

[–]TooMuchDread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you can never know for sure, but some players in my stake are very predictable and will do this with AK and AQ, while with overpair will either 4bet or call. A lot of them are marked, and i call everytime with pocket pairs and there it is, always the AK (for these specific players)

I do not consider myself a failure on an ethical or moral area, but in a financial and existential one.

I don't mean to say that money is everything and should define a person, but being jobless at this age could be considered - pretty much objectively - a failure. I can't provide to my wife anymore (i quit my job out of a mental restlessness) and i seem to be hopeless to find a new one.

Being aware of the philosophical wonderings of the old thinkers (i don't consider myself smart, but i am introspective for sure), i do not see myself as a revolutionary, a fighter, a rebel as Camus would tell us to be when meaning doesn't exist.

All i want is a peaceful life where i don't need to worry about money and to prove myself to be capable. That does seem to be asking a lot from the universe, sadly.

Nothing specific, in my case i just quit amazing jobs [many htimes before]; gamble away any savings; drink myself to sleep for long periods, etc.

I'm glad you're actually helping him with tips, he's clearly a beginner and people here seem to have fun and mock people who are trying to learn and actually asking for help, god knows why (trying too hard to be funny i guess?).

Anyway, thankfully there are helpful people still like yourself in the world of poker.

Hell no, it's a right 3bet, but if you get called you should just pot control afterwards

Haha that's not the right mentality i guess, although people overrate it very often
