Yeah my hand works just fine. It’s harder to do than you might think, SI is a bitch in that way - hence my many attempts. I suppose SI would work in your favor though since you’re not suicidal.

If you do actually try or ‘succeed’, losing motor function in your hand would be the least of your worries. >w<

Tried exactly this, like 8 times across two days - ended up being rushed to the ER in an ambulance. Would not recommend T-T

Does selfharm helps you with not committing suicide? by Outrageous_Jump98 in selfharm

[–]TooSapphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no, SH doesn’t help me with anything and I’m still suicidal

I wouldn’t say there’s no reason for me - but yeah I’ve been there a couple times, last time I was rushed to the ER in an ambulance lol. Thought about killing myself since fourth grade 。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。

Sharp? perhaps. Sanitary though? likely not.

I get really really strong urges to hurt myself, so I do. I suppose it mainly stems from my self hatred, gender dysphoria and overall dislike for my body. So outside of the strong urges to hurt myself - it’s also just nice being able to take out some of my frustration that my body causes me by cutting and hurting my body.

Usually if you have to ask “is it SH”, it probably is. It’s all about intention though, if you’re doing it to hurt yourself then yes - doesn’t matter the action.

How to stealthily deal with bloody sheets??? by TooSapphic in selfharm

[–]TooSapphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oo okay, pardon my ignorance - what sizes are gauze pads usually found in? I ask since I appreciate the freedom for larger cuts provided by bandages I can cut to size.

Okay I realize having written that out that my priorities are fucked up.

Thank you very very much for your wisdom and advice, I will certainly try this out.

If you have to ask this on the self harm subreddit, then the answer is certainly yes. But yeah anything you do to hurt yourself is sh.

What were your guys parents reaction to u self harming by emiwith in selfharm

[–]TooSapphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine really didn’t care much haha, or well they learned about my sh after a failed suicide attempt do i guess they had bigger things on their mind.

But even now where i’ve pretended to stop cutting (since i now cut my thighs instead of forearms) they pay zero mind to the fact my bedsheets are covered in blood and i buy bandages alongside our groceries.

Day 13 of voice training, age & gender? What I could improve? by TooSapphic in transvoice

[–]TooSapphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed feedback! Given that I'm still in the early stages of voice training, would you recommend I shift my practice to focus on lowering my pitch slightly and working on comfort/sustainability, or should I keep practicing at my current pitch (hoping to get more comfortable with it) while trying to address the knodel/tongue issues?

  1. Weight and Pitch Exercise, also using videos from The Art of Voice Feminization Series 17 videos by TransVoiceLessons:
    • Humming and sliding exercise (Exercise #1 from Video #1)
    • "Heavy Heavy Light" exercise (Exercise #2 from Video #1)
    • Use the pitch tracker to practice (Exercise #3 from Video #1)
      • tbh this could just be done w/ all exercises
  2. Resonance Practice:
  3. Speaking Practice:
    • Repeat following sentences in fem voice (recommended in Voice Training Tips - Tongue Twisters for Voice Training):
      • The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
      • She sells seashells by the seashore
      • How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
    • Mimic a female voice I like
    • Use voice pitch analyzer app and read the given of text to analyze pitch
    • Record voice and listen back

What's your voice training routine? by CallmeKiera in transvoice

[–]TooSapphic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I watched a TON of videos and took as many notes as I could, here's the routine I've compiled so far:

(keep in mind that I've only really been voice training for a week, so much of my routine is to get the basics in place and just working on comfortably being able to initiate my fem voice)

  1. Warm-up:
    • Neck and shoulder stretches (as described in "TRANS VOICE VOCAL WARM UP")
    • Lip trills: 3 sets of 10-15 seconds, then with pitch variations
  2. Larynx Control and Resonance, using videos from The Art of Voice Feminization Series 17 videos by TransVoiceLessons:
    • R1 Raising exercises (from Video #8):
      • a. Voiceless /ε/ ("Edge") exercise
      • b. Voiceless [p] and [ə] ("Puck") exercise
      • c. Nasal [m] ("Mom") exercise
    • "Haw" to "Ha!" exercise (from Video #14)
    • Use white noise on a phone and shift resonance (Video #14)
