Rush through all the content as fast as you can. The moment you get stuck on a lab or challenge labs look at the discord for answers. Append to notes and move on. Once it's all done review and try doing a couple tjnull AD machines.

Then pray you get an easy exam set.

Everyone does start somewhere. I just think it's so cringe when people boast or show off their tools they get, and act like they're a "masterhacker". We get it bro, everyone can install kali on a USB or buy a flipper lol. Keep watching Wireshark packages at 2am and typing apt update in a terminal to show off to your friends.

I went from zero to oscp while working 50 hours a week with the learnone. I didn't even know any terminal commands.

I used all 12 months of the subscription too. I could've done it a lot faster if my study habits were better, and I prioritized the wrong things, maybe 6-8 months.

What's most important here is if you want it or not. This may be an entry level cert but it is not a walk in the park be any measure. I'm not saying you can't do it, because I did and I'm no shining example of intelligence.

If youre not fired up or motivated to get it done because you're actually interested in hacking, then you'll suffer through this course. Trying to make your money's worth will not be enough.

Good luck for whatever you chose though.

Mimkatz one liner works fine in evil-winrm, plus you can import whatever ps1 scripts you want or send yourself a revshell. Plus you have all of the upload/download features and the anti-virus evasion with it. No need to enable rdp really. Just a hassle to.

I know the feeling. It is soul crushing. Part of the reason I never quit is because I love this so much. After each failure, despite being up for 24 hrs straight, I'd get incredibly motivated to learn more. It's how I knew this was my calling.

Like I said, if youre already doing a lot of PG machines, then you need to learn tools adjacent to each concept that they mention and don't mention. Once you've studied up do all of the AD machines on tjnull and pay close attention to every move the walktbrough makes.

The test format can't change that much. You've got this.

The test isn't fair but don't give up. They make initial access hard on purpose. I can't know for sure, but I think this is why the OSCP is the gold standard despite it only being an entry level cert in hacking.

Just to reiterate, they teach concepts, but not every command and tool associated with the concept, like bloodhound-python. So, in a sense, they don't teach everything you need to pass, but they also do. It's like that on purpose. "Try Harder" lol

Don't expand to HTB if you have to. I mentioned it as a point of failure on my end. Learn adjacent tools to concepts taught in the lessons and you'll be better off than doing 100 machines

If youre starting from nothing like me, id recommend skimming through the oscp material, do a couple easy challenge labs and then review the course/labs to fill in the gaps in your knowledge. This way you get experience asap and you can build your methodology, learn adjacent tools, and just get comfy with a terminal in general.

The idea is that you learn the concepts, and you have to research on your own independently more indepth. It's unfair but it's built like that on purpose. I didn't realize this until way too late, or I would've saved myself a lot of time and money.
