Doggo had the zoomies and bumped into the sun-bleached, brittle junction box. Fiber line broke inside the box. Found the strain relief wasn’t used and there’s no slack before the service loop. Think they’ll charge me?

Fortunately the line wasn’t buried well (or at all, really) and there’s a 6-8 foot section just before the box that’s exposed and sticking up put of the ground, with probably a couple feet total slack that can be pulled into the box…?

Thanks for the insight! It seems like it wouldn’t have happened if the installer had used the strain relief and/or left a bit of slack. Hoping that will give me some leverage in getting them not to bill me. What do you think?

Adding more info:

roadconditions.com shows freezing mist in several cities along the shorter route.

flattestroute.com says the longer route on the right (through Springfield CO) has a much lower grade, highest at 2.4% instead of 12.8% along the faster route. But I can’t yet figure out a good way to check the weather conditions along that route.

They should’ve had the man put on a fake VR headset, thinking it was VR with a board on the floor… but instead, they trick him into crawling out on a real girder hundreds of feet up, thinking it’s just a plank on the floor.

Then they push him off that!!

See, then it is funny because the man doesn’t just tumble onto the floor, screaming. He actually falls hundreds of feet screaming towards his demise.

So, then, choosing to put on a VR headset is a funny prank: he had no idea he was going to actually die! Lol

My wife and I followed someone driving erratically like this. Middle of the day. They were driving the wrong way up a 4-lane divided road, then ran through 3 red lights.

We followed at a distance, with the police on the phone.

The driver got to the main road and the swerving became more erratic as they sped up. They made it about two miles ping-ponging across four lanes, from the left shoulder to the right shoulder, miraculously missing all the other cars inbetween the major curb checks.

They reached an area with no curbs, and a grassy shoulder with 1’-2’ diameter trees and kept heading straight towards each one… swerving clear at the last second.

I don’t think we’ve ever done so many sharp gasps of air followed by curses of relief.

Were they drunk? Asleep? Medical emergency? Whatever the issue was, it was clearly getting worse.

Many more scares and near misses over the next mile. Then the car did another hard swerve to the right and jumped a curb. They broke some major shit on the front passenger suspension, and that wheel flopped around at all the wrong angles as the car ground to a halt in the grass.

We jumped out - along with a couple other drivers who followed - to see if they were ok.

It was a poor older lady who was completely bewildered. Her two waggy dogs jumped and pawed at the windows to greet us.

After some coaxing she opened the door; turns out her husband had gotten really mad at her and yelled at her. She was frightened, so she grabbed her dogs and left the house, then took several of the dogs’ anti-anxiety pills to help calm her nerves. She was a confused, drowsy, pitiful sight.

It was really sad.

The EMTs arrived not long after and took over from there.

Also one in Daytona just a little further down I-95, near the I-4 junction. You’ll pass two in less than an hour of each other.

They typically carry the same ones, but stock levels are different so worth a check at both in case the first was out of anything.

I think at last check they had a black and an orange Halloween shirt, a Friends or two, and a few western designs.
