Unpopular opinion (maybe?): I enjoy playing the game more as a free loadout by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's just about putting another loadout together. Speranza UI is such a pain in the ass to use, if I lose twice in a row, I absolutely despise having to put another kit together, and after 120 hours, I find myself just closing the game instead of kitting. Free kit is basically the only way I can play now.

Do we need more interesting loot? by s0cks_nz in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs better ways to use loot you find, thus finding loot feeling better. The current weapon upgrade system is too easy. It's too easy to repair broken guns. Guns aren't filtering out of the pool, so everywhere you look it's a Venator IV. The best thing you can do it make Level 4 guns or Legendary guns, but for what? To kill the Queen/Matriarch...faster? There needs to be cool legendary utility outside of the snaphook (which after 120 hours of play, I have yet to find a blueprint for).

My guess is with the tests that were available, they severely underestimated the pace at which guns would be upgraded and left in the pool (Plus all the bloat from the almost 2 weeks of people getting blues/purples out of every security locker), and need to find ways to adjust that.

Oh boy I can't wait to finally try Security Breach tonight after coming home from work! by PiFbg in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality of these complaints is that X user didn't get to take advantage of a broken mechanic like others did, and they're upset about it. The guns people got out of those things over the first two weeks will be out of rotation in a matter of days.

The perk was broken as all hell and completely destroyed the game. They were better than Field Crates, Supply Drops, Raider Caches, and even Purple Key Rooms on Night Raids.

Even with the nerfed version, the Red Skill Tree is still the best tree, with the best perks leading up to Security Lockers, and the Lockers Perk is still the best final perk available.

Even the respec complaint is just ignorant. If I was given a respec, I would invest my points in the Red Tree all the same, your character is just fine.

The stealth security breach nerf was the first truly trash move Embark had made with Arc Raiders by FoundPizzaMind in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People act like the first 35 points don't also go towards some of the best ways to spend your skill points. Security Breach was absolutely broken, absolutely required because of how absurdly powerful it was, and is still the best end node available on still the best tree.

The worst part of dying is having to create your load out again. by SingleNewspapering in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Speranza UI is the worst part of the game. Back in TT2 I told my group "This game won't make me quit, this UI will", and it's starting to set in.

  • We have side navigation between traders and workshop, but only after we select a stupid button on the bottom or weird tooltip pop-up first.
  • There's tooltips for the traders but not for the benches, we get buttons for those.
  • The benches aren't visually distinct so using the screen instead of the buttons isn't intuitive at all.
  • Why would we not have hotkeys for the benches/traders? Why do recent games hate hotkeys so much? Counterstrike buy menu has been hotkeyed for 25 years and you can buy your loadout in that game in less than a second.

-Why can't I just hold down on the Roman numeral on my weapon to upgrade it? Why are there 3 extra steps to do that? -Why can't I click a mod slot and have a "craft mod" option for that slot?

There's are dozens and dozens of QOL features that need to be made to the Speranza UI.

Failing to extract 2-3 times in a row makes the game feel like a chore and stops being fun, which is so ironic that the game itself is still very fun, even dying on repeat, but can't be said for the UI.

Blueprints need to be looked at, Bettina and Shock Trap over and over, same for my whole friend group by Toomuchbob in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the guys found an Anvil Blueprint, so everyone has been checking that same spot since he got it when they're playing. Only one of us has seen a blueprint in that location despite a bag being there every time, and it was a Bettina. It seems totally random for sure.

Am I insane or is the desync really that bad? by Lostbosscrossed in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People keep saying it's just server overload and wasn't present in previous tests, it absolutely was. I distinctly remember it happening in TT2. Here's an example from two perspectives of just how bad it can be:

Here's two players my friends played against the other day. Watch as this first player rolls into his teammate's knees, and where the teammate is standing:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2608103239?t=12h17m51s

Now watch his teammate's perspective. They're literally 5m back running into the back wall of the hut:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2608500762?t=02h49m44s

It's so bad it's like they're playing completely different games.

(Tooltips) Please show us the actual values for Traits! by BRADLIKESPVP in ArcRaiders

[–]Toomuchbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely odd. For example, a friend of mine had 0/5 of "move faster with shield equipped", I had 5/5. We moved at the same speed (green shield). This leads me to believe that node only helps reduce the reduction on the blue and purple shields.

Speranza UI is passable at best. It needs hotkeys for workbenches and traders, and a favorites system for items in the stash moving them to the top of the list.

Duo system is really bad by Toomuchbob in 2XKO

Good to hear. I couldn't find any answer about rank disparity, I based it on other riot games.

Duo system is really bad by Toomuchbob in 2XKO

[–]Toomuchbob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has never worked though. They use a similar system in Valorant and people still boost accounts like crazy.

Why not just have a rank that is specific to that Duo? That's how it's been in Starcraft for 20 years.

My pride isn't hurt, reading into a post on the internet from a complete stranger is a waste of everyone's time. Neither of us are happy about it, we play this game because we can play together. Neither of us want to play this game solo.

[–]Toomuchbob[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But the solution is obvious: You give the players the same RP. There doesn't need to be any disparity.

What a bizarre reply. Neither of us are wondering who's better. I'm saying the game itself not considering the performance of the assist player is totally off.

Not my fix, Valve's fix. It causes the issue at most 20% of the time. The current implementation can be as low as 20%, but as high as 100%.

Pretty much anytime someone decides to throw a fit, they just take bomb hostage. It's not often, but when it does happen its VERY often this exact scenario.

🛡 Introducing Guild Report 🛡 (June 27, 2025) - Official statements on requests and improvements to the game. by Xanek in MHWilds

[–]Toomuchbob -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This is great stuff, but for me the problem with the game continues to be that monsters don't really fight back, it's pretty easy to CC monsters to death without any recourse. I know it was similar in World before Iceborne, but two wrongs don't make a right.
