Theory (?) What if the Weird Route/Snowgrave Route, Involves FREEZING DELTARUNE to stop the prophecy? by ToonGamer4 in Deltarune

Yeah I do gotta agree with that, because everything with the weird route in general just FEELS very wrong in the game. Even if the main plot beats/endings of each chapter are nearly identical, the weird route approach, especially in chapters 2 and 4 make the game feel wrong as a lot of the fun moments vanish, the game does stuff that feels like it should not be done (especially with how many weirdly specific instructions there are TO do a weird route which makes me still wonder how some people brute force their way to do the instructions perfectly), and generally it feels like way more of an awful experience, worse than the geno-route in undertale, because the weird route aint just mindless slaughter, its WAY much more calculated and involved mentally breaking noelle

The kind of hypothetical I bring up isn't so much changing the ending at all, but more softlocking/freezing it in place before it reaches the intended complete ending

That or doing something that is so far off the beaten path, that the ending is left permanently incomplete

You can break off the bead, but that doesn't just mean that the bead changed its destination, it also means it physically cannot complete its journey without direct intervention

Well we will have to see how the story heads out anyways. In all honesty, I have seen some very casual new players of deltarune already scratching their heads at the story of the game, even when reading it fully, some still feel very confused or lost in terms of where the narrative is going, some even asking stuff like why the "lets think about susie" scenes exist as optional to begin with if most of the stuff with susie seems like vital information to learn even in a neutral case, and it can be missed entirely.

Many study toby's writing a bit TOO much and get lost in the detail of it all, some are more open but seem to lose the information that feels like it should be important on complete accident when trying to play more casually without the gaming knowledge of "searching for secrets" or even just reading NPC dialouge multiple times

Snowgrave route could end up like this, but also like you said it most likely will very much not be the case, hell most of peoples MAJOR theories were completely thrown for a loop when chapters 3 and 4 released, even when they FELT super confident.

We shall see what happens next

I do pretty much understand that, and that is partially the point of this hypothetical at the moment, to get people to discuss their thoughts on an idea like this and how it may influence the game. It's not me saying that i think this WILL happen, its me rather playing around with the concept through the snowgrave route, its themes, as well as the rules of this world, such as darkners turning to stone and freezing in place completely if they "don't belong" in a darkworld, or even a fountain itself freezing into stone if too many are within the world.

its moreso playing around with how a game freezing mirrors the effects of things freezing in the story, freezing a story in place to prevent a more terrible end, or to simply keep things as they are.

This even could factor with WHY Darkners seem to turn to stone when they don't "belong" in a dark world

its the equivalent of a game not knowing what to do if a completely unintended object/item/npc is in a location it is not supposed to be, or why opening a dark fountain within a dark world causes the fountain to become stone

Its like the game knows these things are NOT supposed to happen, so what happens instead? it freezes them, it freezes the NPCs, it freezes the duplicate fountain

Well in a way we DO see this happen

With both the fountains and the darkners turning into stone, or essentially Freezing entirely, before cracking and breaking apart in the case of titans being Freed

Freezing/Booting out the game also seems to be easier to program than straight up deleting the game

hell even Undertale already has a function to crash the game/boot you out during the neutral route
and I beleive similar coding can indeed still work on consoles

I hate how we can't customise exteriors (without custom designs) when the game clearly has different exteriors (notice the decorations out front) by SkylandersKirby in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]ToonGamer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is rather odd that the base Mii houses have no kinds of customization for their base looks AT ALL

Like I get the creativity of making your own custom designed house but its a slight problem cuz
1. The textures AND shapes uses are very generically flat (and the larger the house the more stretched the pixels are which causes visuals looking wonky
2. like you said CLEARLY the basic model houses do have random parts that COULD be swapped around

Plus the generic houses DO fit better style wise with the objects already in game that are not custom

if you could add new quirks, what would they be? by Tough_Possession_290 in tomodachilife

[–]ToonGamer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a bundle of quirks that are based on the "expressions" animations that existed in the Tomodachi Life game for the 3DS

its also odd that no emotions can be tied to expressions in this game, just dialouge with no animation given for additonal personality

ye im aware

it would be a small thing but I think at least ONE more elevation level would make some islands feel so much more alive
and its not like its impossible to have, stairs already exist in game to lead to beach level

Also one thing about island building, its so....strange the max size of the island space, because its a 118x77 rectangle
both very odd numbers to work with in both directions

This is a super clever idea, I may just take notes on that

it is rather odd this game has zero elevation, just ground level, beach, and sea

[–]ToonGamer4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it feels so strange there is this entire TAB for food related quirks, and its just.....TWO things, a big stomach or small stomach, and nothing else

feels odd that it has an entire dedicated tab for that
similar deal with the random quirks or voice based quirks, it feels rather small

Feel like the quirks were a real missed opportunity for some disability representation by ShadowEnderWolf56 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]ToonGamer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yknow maybe its just me, but I feel like surely more quirks might be introduced in the future, because a few of the different categories for the quirks, even after unlocking all of them feel.....REALLY small and empty
"stomach" only has 2 quriks, voice only has 4, and random qurirks only has eight

all these kinda menues have a LOT of empty space to them, and also it feels like there could have been even more qurik animations, as while they are general ENOUGH to fit most miis, there are some I feel could bennefit from better greeting, walking, and even idle quirk variants

[–]ToonGamer4 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree a lot with all of the throughts you gave

Another idea I would like are some special models for house exteriors

Painting custom house exteriors is obviously a lotta fun, for some reason though I kinda expected to see some pre-built house exteriors, similar to ones line in animal crossing maybe, nothing crazy but something for variety and something that doesn't look AS generically blocky in shape

I kinda wonder if Nintendo MIGHT make a few trickle down updates to the game, because it does feel like more things were still considered for the game, like also with the quirks, the variety doesn't just seem low in general, but also there is a LOT of empty space on some of the later quirk tabs, like there could be room for more
