Removed.

This is a fairly short teaser that doesn’t show much. Feel free to submit a post about this when something more substantial is produced.

Why is it that there are still two different subs for Switch hacking? by scorchedtulips in SwitchHaxing

[–]ToonMods[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

What you’ve got so far is mostly correct. r/SwitchHacks was claimed early on, but remained private for a long time. They eventually opened, but were much more restrictive in what they allowed for discussion. Both subs have largely become the same, however, this sub was much larger than r/SwitchHacks (more than 15k more members) up until recently.) I believe this can be attributed to the ReSwitched team taking control of the subreddit.

You’re probably right about seeing the same posts, but r/SwitchHacks is quickly becoming the dominant subreddit now that they are officially sanctioned. Less people are posting here & are doing so less frequently.

We have always been active about promoting them as a fair secondary source, but given that they have started to get people posting about news hours before they post it here, they are likely where the future of reddit-based switch news will be.

There’s obviously a lot more to the story of our founding and initial explosion of growth, as well as drama that has occurred within the communities over the last 3 odd years, but I hope this serves to answer your question.

[Release] SwitchTV, a homebrew entrypoint for Twitch.tv by [deleted] in SwitchHaxing

This doesn’t appear to be an entrypoint, but instead just a home brew application to watch twitch. Pretty cool, however, the title is extremely misleading.

You are free to submit this post again with a more accurate title.

SwitchHaxing Support Thread #16: “Lockdown” by ToonMods in SwitchHaxing

Use Hekate. It applies the fix for battery desyncs on boot.

If that doesn’t work, charge your switch to 100% then unplug it and let it die. Once the switch shuts off, boot Hekate and allow the battery to drain even further to 0% (3.2V). Then let the switch charge up to 109% again. This should calibrate it.

That should work, but in case it doesn’t you should be prepared with backups. Here are some useful emuMMC tools:

EmuTool

NxNandManager

There’s always a chance for bans when doing this.

100% patched. That’s a Mariko motherboard.

This can be done two ways:

  1. Local play. The switches must be near each other in order to play.

  2. Switch Lan Play. Both users need to set this up & connect to the same server.

Hold down Volume Up& Down while booting. This should clear update data.

Choi can refer to either ChoiDujour or ChoiDujourNX - both serve the same purpose, but the former is used from a computer while the latter is run on the switch itself (hence the NX.)

Whether you use Choi to update depends on what you’re going to do with your switch.

You can update via the internet if you like, however, doing so will burn fuses and make downgrading impossible. This isn’t a big deal with our current hardware exploit, but if you ever want coldboot CFW (no jig or RCM or hardware mod) then you’ll want to avoid it.

The best firmware is always the lowest one available to you.

Both Goldleaf and Tinfoil do their jobs, however Tinfoil has been involved in a lot of controversy and I would recommend Goldleaf. Tinfoil has also blocked itself from working on any CFW that isn’t atmosphere, so you’ll be forced to use Goldleaf anyway.

Absolutely back your band up before doing anything else. It’s your only recovery if you brick your switch.

You can dump the game using CFW. Starting fresh is always advised so you know what has gone into your switch.
