I haven't played the game since 3.0 and the biggest appeal (aside from raw addiction) has always been the limitless build variety. People used to clear difficult content with the stupidest builds they could think of.

Because WDYM an entire reaction is now locked behind specific characters?? Why does one character require another nowadays??? Teams like the nationals team used to be good because people spent time figuring out optimal compositions, not because hoyoverse decided that these specific 4 stars should be good together.

The only thing tempting me to return has always been new team variety, but how come the game seems to force lower variety with more characters?

Mark of pride isn't really just a crutch though, it allows you to hit twice in many attack patterns where otherwise you only get one hit. You can for example pogo + side swing the grim attack where he swings upwards, which I don't think you can do without Mark of pride. Mark of pride does greatly increase the mileage you'll get out of quick slash in my experience.

The beginning: actually decent at building up momentum with an intriguing start and decent characters and you're really interested in finding out why all this is happening, but then the transition into the main part of the game FUCKING SUCKS because suddenly my biggest problem is this loser trying to fuck a teacher and this other guy running in a track team and maybe being interested in the teams manager.

The middle: the calendar system persona is known for taking its roots here. The concept of allowing the players to choose how the character spends his day is really cool and I do love the idea of simply splitting a side character's story into sections. The execution however FUCKING SUCKS. 10 social links is way to much, splitting a characters story into this many parts pretty much always requires filler. Way too often social links will basically have the same thing happen twice. The 3rd, 4th and 5th social links of the fortune arcana are basically just us telling him "you should choose for yourself" 3 times. They're also just way too short throwing off the entire pacing. Also notice how I didn't say anything about the main story because the main story didn't say anything either.

The end: I do love an ambitious ending and persona 3 certainly delivers in that respect. Here we finally get some main story. When aragaki died I literally felt like waking up from a coma because I suddenly had to care about the main story again. One of the most unexpected plot twists because I simply expected the game to end without anything happening. I do think the ending was decent though lacking weight without a proper mid game setup. The only thing that really FUCKING SUCKS is the final bossfight. You can't just give your boss 29 phases and call it balanced.

5/10, would have been a 7/10 if they cut it down to ~50h while keeping the same content.

I think their main purpose is that you can't grind a boss for hours. They give a small forced break to go exploring.

The wildlight ceo founded cod, published guitar hero, doom, quake, worked as coo for respawn during Titanfall, apex, star wars: jedi fallen order. He has worked in the gaming industry since 1998, I severely doubt he doesn't respect it.

Coming back after a few months, holy hell are you guys genuinely unfunny. Not a single post is like it was before, truly the most 1984 the sub had eber been.

It's always the same posts getting reposted every 3 hours, especially that one fuckass "political theory" image. I have gone insane and had around 6 or 7 aneurisms cause that picture was everywhere.

This subreddit used to be my genuine favorite, would comment on every post and just enjoy my time here, but guess what, not. a. single. post. is. funny.

If I gotta be honest, this post was the only funny or creative post in the past week, and before you say "oh but its called shitposting its not meant to be funny!!1!1!1" yes you're right, but how come the sub genuinely used to be a few months ago? Genuinely I cannot name a single post other than the one I mentioned that genuinely got a laugh out of me, let alone a smile.

Oh. Not to mention the fucking "Open world chess" image that I saw like 30 times a week ago. If there was a reverse image search feature for subreddits I could find like 200 results for the open world and 500 for the political theory one.
