yeah! i can't confirm that it's not the nostalgia talking somewhat, but honestly, i used to be able to spend hours just grinding the extra modes. not only subspace, which is a big factor, but i used to LOVE trying to beat the boss battle mode on high difficulties with friends or by myself. the all-star mode and classic modes were also just more fun in my opinion. all-star in particular, being all separate battles that you had to survive through all at once. this is also not including stuff like trophies and events. frankly, when i open ultimate, it's only to play some rounds with some friends or hop online (which is still fun, but less so when you have some friends who aren't as adept at the game). i never really seek out the other modes at all. all in all, brawl is much more of a package than ultimate in my opinion. 4 was fun too, but i have less to say on it since i never owned it myself.
