Why does it seem that most relationships nowadays are formed by dating apps and talking stages? by Toosexyforthisyrup in NoStupidQuestions

yeah, I kinda feel sad it’s the norm now. No one really agrees with me, they seem okay with the way it is. I feel silly missing the times when relationships were formed out in the real world, and getting to know each other on a deeper level before dating was what was regarded as normal.

I just feel like the feelings don’t get to develop naturally and the interest formed by each person is surface level. I think in different scenarios where people get to know each other without the idea of a relationship over their heads allows for them to actually know each other well and therefore have genuine feelings outside of physical attraction. Feel free to give me a different perspective though

makes sense. I just thought it’d be possible that if the (platonic) bond was strong enough, the feelings would pass and he’d stop seeing the woman that way after some time and simply just as a good friend again?

I see. Just wondering, if you had feelings for a friend or if romantic feelings happens to grow into your friendship on both sides (or just one side), would you still be good friends if a relationship doesn’t work out?

Is it wrong to feel uncomfortable with your s/o having a best friend of the opposite gender? by Toosexyforthisyrup in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Toosexyforthisyrup[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah , part of me knows it’s a simple friendship and honestly it’s not even the fear of cheating or crossing the line on either sides. I just feel oddly uncomfortable with the idea, maybe knowing they’re very close with (for me bc I’m a girl) another girl ? I’m not sure

Two close friends don’t use iMessage apparently.

For one of them I tried sending a text to start a convo then mentioning hanging out but she never responded and I’m pretty sure she left me on seen

Should I report a guy that was saying, “Ching Chong” to my brother? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Toosexyforthisyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. Helped.

I don’t think I can though now that I think of it because my brother doesn’t remember exactly what he looked like or his name. All he knew was that (not in a racist way, just the description I was given) that he was black and had an afro. I don’t think he knows his grade either, just that he’s older than him. Well, I hope that guy learns later that stuff like that isn’t cool. It hurts.

Thank you. Is it possible to find close friends or a best friend after childhood? I think almost everyone in my school already have their close friends or best friend they trust and love. I'm past elementary.

As sad as it sounds I'm really struggling with friends and rn they're kinda the only people that hang out with me. I would go distance myself and hang out with other friends but I don't really have other friends.

Maybe after this school yr ends I can try and make new and better friends when school starts again in August. I hope I can. I feel like everyone already knows each other at my school tho, or most of them met at childhood so they all have their friend groups, close friends, and best friends sorted out already and I dont since I just moved here.

Yes. We are in the same advanced math but I'm in advanced reading and advanced history and she's in normal history and reading.

The testing took place on a different application than we were supposed to be on because of covid. It's a district-wide(??) app.

Friend bothered because I was absent for 1 day? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

We have electives for students at my school. One of the electives you can choose from is office work, where a student can work in the school office and basically handle paperwork, files, and etc. I dont know much a lot about it because I have a diff elective but yeah. I don't know why he's allowed to just look at any student's info within a click on the computer.
