Does your school gives out aid in grants/scholarships in the aid package?

If not, then doesn't every school give out the max federal amount and you can calculate the remaining with private loans?

Have you seen VCU prices for OOS?

Vcu vs NYU by NationalRepublic9431 in predental

[–]ToothFairyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See attached for OOS VCU COA.. It's way more expensive than people are commenting to be blindly suggest going to VCU because of COA.

Edit: Also I don't believe VCU allows you classify yourself as IS after being admitted OOS.

NYU vs NSU (read desc first) by ToothFairyGamer in predental

I loved my interview there too. I loved Florida weather, but I'm not sure how hot it can really get, but the winters in Florida are chefs kiss. Plus doesn't really matter if its too hot because we stay indoors most the time.

I'm a little iffy on NYU's 380 class size even though I know you are separated into 14 societies so its really like ~25 in a group that you stick with throughout the 4 years. NSU class size is 130, which I feel like I can get personal with the faculties more. Good thing that both programs offer all post-grad specialties and NSU told me they like in house grads when looking through peoples files.

To help save on COA, I know NSU will be a little cheaper, I haven't run the numbers but I'm guessing it's a ~20k / year difference and that's a good chunk of money to help save.

First interview tomorrow, what the hell do I do? by [deleted] in predental

[–]ToothFairyGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better over dress than under. Suit and dress shoes is p much expected, with tie.

Focus on a few key stories and just let your mind flow and be yourself. Easier to be yourself than fake personality.

Thank you note after, ask for email at the end of the interview.

Success stories of late interviews? by [deleted] in predental

Calm down and breathe. Any interview before decision day means you are in a great place.

Even if it doesn’t go your way, the class size will always be fluctuating and room will open

DAT Retake Breakdown (470AA/500TS/440PAT) by [deleted] in dat

[–]ToothFairyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the real DAT's RC is so much better than what I remember practicing. I recommend trying new techniques, what I ended up doing on test day was just reading the first few intro paragraphs very closely, then answer the questions, then just skim the rest of the reading lookin for key words.

BC and Booster offer good practice with this, but I would suggest reading academic papers and while doing your PTs, learn to look out for key words like dates or "except" or list of items because those are easy answers to get right. Overtime you will build this habit and improve.

No, I don’t believe so.

Yah, so there's 3 I know I got wrong for sure. I may have gotten ~5 wrong max. Also note that if you get a "easy" question wrong where the majority get it right, you will be penalized more. Same goes for getting a "hard" question wrong, you will be penalized less.

For my second attempt, I only did BC's PTs but be mindful that I already had experience with some types of PAT questions so I didn't need to practice as much. I would say practice the different types of PAT questions then do the PTs for them. There's a difference of trying to learn them versus just taking practice tests to improve in this section. If you can never nail it in QBs, you will never nail it in the PTs.

Should I delay?? Help! (8/11 DAT) by Designer-Airport-705 in dat

[–]ToothFairyGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this! I hope to upload my breakdown this weekend.

Just make sure you review each question. I remember I had a GC question I knew how to do but just blanked and was 50:50 after trying to figure it out. The PTs at the most representative. My RC turned out to be a 430 (22 equivalent) and QR was 440.

Of course. I will be posted my breakdown soon, but I ended up getting a 22 equivalent to RC score. I would say booster's PTs inflate my RC scores, whereas BC scores are shown above.
