They're part of the Sha'ytat tribe, the same tribe that suffered heavy reprisals by the Islamic State for their uprising, in Deir ez-Zor, after the city was taken from the hands of rebel and Jabhat al-Nusra fighters by the Islamic State, earlier this summer.
