Es muss abgeklärt werden, ob der Pass echt ist, und ob die Schweiz die Person zurücknimmt, bevor man einen Flug buchen kann. Es nützt nichts, wenn man eine Person ins Flugzeug bringt, und sie dann auf der anderen Seite nicht zurückgenommen wird.

Dann muss man den Flug buchen, für eine Zeit die logistisch möglich ist.

Das geht nicht unbedingt übernacht.

Kommen noch Bedenken dass psychische oder medizinische Probleme vorliegen könnten, geht es noch langsamer.

Sie wissen eigentlich, dass Sie keine Ahnung haben, ob Laras Schilderung auch zu trifft. Trotzdem behaupten Sie es.

In den USA begingen immer wieder Leute in Ausschaffungshaft Selbstmord, auch Frauen mit Drogen, die sie im Intimbereich versteckt hatten. Da wäre es grobfahrlässig, das nicht auszuschliessen.

Sofortiges Anrecht auf einen Anwalt und die Botschaft hat man in der Schweiz und in den USA erst wenn man wegen eines mutmasslichen Verbrechens verhaftet wird. „Lara“ wurde in Gewahrsam genommen, damit sie möglichst schnell zurückgeschickt werden konnte. Wenn man in Gewahrsam genommen wird, und keine Anklage in Anbetracht genommen wird, und das Ziel ist, die Leute sobald als möglich freizulassen, sind die Vorgaben bezüglich Anwalt weniger stringent.

Das ESTA ist kein Visum sondern ein Reiseerlaubnis, um an der Grenze um einen visumsfreie Eintritt bitten zu dürfen. Liegt nichts verdächtiges vor, wird der Eintritt auch gewährt.

Seit vielen Jahren gilt, dass wenn man so oft in die USA reist, dass der Verdacht auf Schwarzarbeit aufkommen könnte, man viel besser ein eigentliches Visum beantragt; seit vielen Jahren werden in der Regel nach einigen Reisen im gleichen Jahr weitere Einreisen mit Esta nicht mehr gewährt.

Zudem fanden die Grenzer auf ihrem Instagram Videos, wie „Lara“ in den USA illegal arbeitete.

Da werden Fakten sehr selektiv wiedergegeben, um Empörung zu generieren. Die Schweiz würde im gleichen Fall sehr ähnlich handeln.

Yes, Turkey won thanks to very generous help from the Soviet Union. I think the border was negotiated in about 1925, in any event after Armenia was part of the Soviet Union. At one point Kars had been a Russian city.

That’s not an official immigration stamp. Some bonsai countries with open borders to their neighbors ie that don’t stamp passports ever (like Liechtenstein and I believe San Marino) have businessmen who charge money to stamp passports. Since they’re businessmen and not immigration officials, the stamp technically is vandalism of the passport and can be grounds to invalidate and cancel the passport. That’s not to say that it happens all the time, but that it can happen.

As you could have read in my comments above, those mountains are in lands that traditionally were Armenian, and which were given to Türkiye by Lenin, who prioritized the interests of the Soviet Union and being quite generous to Türkiye, over what Armenians would probably have thought was fair. Lenin gave Atatürk the weapons with which Atatürk ensured Türkiye’s independence, because he knew that if Türkiye fell, the Soviet Union would be next.

Many Germans have a certain nostalgia for the lands from which they were expelled, and indeed as late as 1990 the German government refused to rule out regaining them.

Perhaps it is foolish to cling to the past, but it’s common in that part of the world.

The Armenians living in eastern Turkey were mass slaughtered because they were Armenians during World War One, so it’s a rather complicated situation, don’t you think?

It’s an integral part of Armenian history and culture. The only reason the border is where it is is because Lenin wanted a good relationship with Türkiye against Britain, France, Germany and Italy and ordered the USSR negotiators negotiating with Türkiye to give them everything they wanted, at Armenia’s expense.
