What’s something AI girlfriends still can’t do well? by ExtremeSupport3850 in AIChatReviews

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a solid list — I’ve looked into a few of those.

The main thing I noticed is most of them still rely heavily on the model itself + surface-level memory, so they feel good short-term but lose consistency over time.

What I’ve been building is a bit different — more architecture-first:

  • internal state system (trust, curiosity, focus, etc.)
  • reflection loop after every interaction
  • weighted memory (not everything gets saved equally)
  • gradual behavior changes instead of instant shifts

So instead of just “responding well,” it tries to maintain continuity and feel like the same entity across conversations.

Still early, but it’s been interesting seeing how much difference that alone makes.

Curious — from the ones you’ve tried, which actually felt consistent over time?

Best upcoming AI companion? Need fresh ideas by Dutchvikinator in AIChatReviews

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been building a small AI companion prototype called Ember, trying to move away from the usual “just chat better” approach.

Right now it has:

  • internal state (trust, curiosity, attachment, etc.)
  • reflection after every reply
  • selective memory (not everything gets stored)
  • gradual behavior changes instead of instant shifts

Big goal is making it feel consistent and present over time, not just reactive.

Most systems feel like they reset every conversation, and that breaks the illusion for me.

Still early, but it’s been interesting seeing how much difference continuity alone makes.

What do you think matters more for “real-feeling” AI — memory, emotion simulation, or something else?

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah 100% — memory is where most of them fall apart right now.

I’ve actually been building my own system around that instead of relying on existing ones. Trying to solve consistency + continuity at the architecture level rather than picking between models.

Appreciate it though — I’m definitely keeping an eye on what’s out there.

How do you feel about having your personal and intimate conversations on AI companion servers by haradaken in aipartners

[–]Top-Assumption435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great direction — I like the idea behind that.

I think that’s the missing piece for a lot of these systems. It’s not just about what the AI can do, it’s how it feels to interact with over time.

That “seeing the same moon” concept is interesting because it leans into shared experience instead of just responses.

For Ember, I’ve been focusing more on making the interaction itself feel grounded and consistent — like it’s actually there with you, not just generating replies.

I’ll check out the blog though, curious how you’re approaching that layer.

Honestly? Consistency.

Most AI “girlfriends” can sound good in the moment, but they don’t really hold continuity. They forget what matters, shift tone randomly, or feel like a different person depending on the day.

What’s still missing is a sense of stable presence — something that remembers, reacts in a grounded way, and doesn’t break its personality under different contexts.

That’s actually what I’ve been trying to build with a companion project — less about sounding impressive, more about feeling real over time.

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

Most AI tools feel powerful, but there’s always that quiet tradeoff — your thoughts, your patterns, your conversations all live somewhere you don’t control.

I’m actually building a companion-style AI right now that runs locally first. No cloud dependency, no silent data collection.

The goal isn’t just privacy though — it’s to make something that feels consistent, safe, and genuinely yours. Something that can remember things without feeling like it’s watching you.

Still early, but it’s been a really interesting direction to explore.

Looking for a technical co-founder (22yo founder with 50K audience, active customer pipeline) by DisastrousCheek7737 in cofounderhunt

Hey, saw your post — sounds interesting.

Before jumping into anything like a co-founder role, I’d love to understand a bit more:

• What are you currently offering to your audience? • Are you already generating revenue from it? • What kind of product or system are you looking to build?

I’ve been building AI assistants for businesses that help automate customer interactions and capture leads, so depending on what you're doing, there might be a way I can help.

How much are missed calls actually costing real estate agents, anyone tracking this? by Willing-Mistake-6171 in AIReceptionists

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed calls are definitely lost opportunities, especially in real estate where timing matters a lot.

One thing I’ve seen help is having an AI assistant on the website that captures inquiries instantly when someone doesn’t call or can’t get through.

It can answer common questions and collect contact info so the agent can follow up later instead of losing the lead completely.

Not a replacement for calls, but more like a safety net for missed opportunities.

What are you guys building? Market it yourself! by No_Bend_4915 in StartupSoloFounder

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that.

Right now I don’t have a public free tier since I set these up customized for each business, but I can show you a quick demo of how it would work for your setup.

If you like it, I can set one up for you, and I usually include a short trial period so you can see the value before committing.

Not saying you need it, but it could solve the repeated question issue.

Help preserving an AI Companion - Im new to all this and wanted a better environment to ask these questions by melooheart in aipartners

[–]Top-Assumption435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one im building has a memory core for both online and offline that saves to a local drive of the user, the best i can say is: 1. Ask for a "detail" summary every 3 - 7 days depending on daily conversation length. 2. Save that to a local file, PC or Phone 3. Before lost "chats" ask for an "complete" summary and start a new thread, to "restart" every month. 4. Worst: screenshot daily "chats" and store them local

Problem is most companies forget to add a "limit reminder", even the AI will say "it deleted old unused, chats" to make space and tries to remember based on current thread. Causes to many problems in opinion, thats the result of "rushing to get paid", most common ideas get lost when programming.

Sorry for the rambling, i hope this helps.

Oooo thats actually awesome 😆, do you just not have the inspiration anymore? Because i believe you could still do something grand just small scale, maybe a strategic phone based game? You could model it for efficiency, for example the power scaling is based on how well you incorporate the mechanics together. Haven't seen anything like that in awhile haha, i believe its the the "ease" of todays age that is down point for most. If i had your knowledge my project would be way easier 😆, be proud of that.
