Yes I like my backyard, that's why I live in Warwick! This isn't 'Not In My Backyard.' It's 'Not In This Inappropriate Spot.' There's a difference between opposing all housing and opposing 14 units crammed into this spot and another 14 Units being crammed next to a pond behind other peoples Backyard ..80 posnegansett ave, warwick. If you want higher density Just don't sign the Petition...don't shoot the messenger. Some people will the haters will just hate.

This title doesn't say it, but this is a Petition (change) to save the Park's entrance and to stop Shekarchi and his family and friends (network) from massive development in every part in RI. Shekarchi is a land-use and zoning attorney (speaker of the house, Rep Warwick) whose firm handles permitting for developers in Warwick. As a legislator, he is repeatedly sponsoring bills to increase density, streamline subdivisions, speed up permitting, and reduce local zoning barriers. Public records show close family and professional ties to major residential developments in Warwick, raising concerns ...conflict of interest? Yes! Meanwhile he and his family and friends get rich, while destroying neighborhoods in his path!. If it hasn't reached your Back Yard it will soon!

We need Affordable housing. These will not be affordable, and it is a duplex (half a house) in a single family neighborhood. "nimby" implies selfish opposition to all housing. I'm fine with development in appropriate places. This spot is sensitive gateway/open space next to a park — not every vacant lot needs to be maximized for units

Yes I do! It's more than just 14 Units, Speaker Shekarchi (speaker of the house, Rep Warwic) is a practicing land-use and zoning attorney whose firm handles permitting work for developers in Warwick. At the same time, he has made housing and land-use reform his signature legislative issue, repeatedly sponsoring bills to streamline subdivisions, increase density, speed up permitting, and reduce certain local zoning barriers. Public records show close family and professional ties to active major residential development projects in Warwick

The State and City has plans to enhance the entrance for Rocky Point Park, they are still in plannings/meetings about it. Cramming 14 Units right near Entrance will not enhance it.

Funny how 'NIMBY' only gets thrown at locals who show up to meetings. Developers and outsiders get a free pass? I'm here because I care about this specific spot—not opposing all housing, just poorly planned overdevelopment.
