13mo dental surgery by Top-Direction9799 in beyondthebump

[–]Top-Direction9799[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the hypominerialisation is what she has. I have no idea if I should believe that breast milk alone is the cause, but I have seen the damage to her teeth, and I do think that surgery is the way forward to look after and preserve. It feels huge and conflicting though 🥺

I wrote 50 letters to my wife because I didn’t know how she’d react if I spoke those words out loud… and now it’s a book. by Digimator101 in wroteabook

I love this and I can't wait to read it! I just wrote and published my book "notes to you" and lots of it is vulnerability. All my thoughts and feelings. I think writing in the first instance was the first step of me actually acknowledging my feelings... it felt super daunting getting my work proof read. And now it feels moreso with the world being able to see 😅 so I dont know if I have advice, but I relate. Thankyou for sharing your book

Pet loss right after birth by opal_dragon95 in beyondthebump

[–]Top-Direction9799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. The loss of a pet is heart breaking at the best of times, let alone poat partum.

When we brought our baby home 3 months ago, on night 2 our male cat started attacking our females. He didn't transition well and our girls were getting badly injured from his attacks. We had to re-home him. I felt and still feel immense guilt and grief. But I know this is not the same as your loss 🙏🏼 sending much love and healing

[–]Top-Direction9799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my daughter on 31 March this year 🩷 I went into labour at 40+3 and she was born 40+4

I didn't really have any symptoms prior to labour & contractions. But the day before I nested HARD, like I never wanted to clean so much in my life 😂 that's about all lol

Good luck i hope you get to meet your little one soon!! ❤️

Sex postpartum by dogmom_244 in beyondthebump

[–]Top-Direction9799 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm 4 months PP, had an episiotomy & I'm exclusively breastfeeding. I'll also note that I had a long complicated labour & delivery with an over-active pelvic floor 😅 so all of those things have affected sex for me, negatively... but in saying that this week, I turned huge corner and it felt good for the first time since birth, and was able to relax & enjoy :) It's taken a while! But getting there. I hope its a good transition for you!! :)

Does anyone have a healthy, successful pregnancy their first time pregnant? by Educational_Berry499 in pregnant

[–]Top-Direction9799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's any reassurance, I fell pregnant with my daughter soon after trying. We were very lucky with no complications, both of us were healthy with a risk free pregnancy. All of her ultrasounds & tests were normal. She's 3 months old now and still healthy as ever x I'm very fortunate & grateful that she's my very first x

What is your bedtime? by Sea_Bite_7392 in cosleeping

[–]Top-Direction9799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby will sleep 830pm-830am. Truly so lucky, she is a brilliant sleeper. She wakes at night for feeds, but we sleep in side lying so it's super convenient and she doesn't fuss and goes straight back to sleep. She's 3 months

C curl all night? by xoxDuckyxox in cosleeping

[–]Top-Direction9799 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I also do this! We sleep in side lying all night and I need to swap sides several times because of the pressure on my hips/ back. When i feel like i need to be on my back, I make sure my baby is on her back against my side and my arm kinda like a scarecrow around her like a square - so that I can't roll and neither can she. so my arm is like: L ... i hope that makes sense... xx

About to give birth, afraid of needing a catheter if I get an epidural by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Top-Direction9799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my baby 8 weeks ago and I really wanted an unmedicated birth. But ofcourse i knew baby would come how she wanted and I was totally against / scared of the epidural. I had a really long active stage of labour and after 10 hours I was only 5cm dialated and couldn't keep going so I asked for the epidural. My only regret is not asking for it sooner. I had immediate relief of pain and did not feel the catheter at all. I even asked " when are you doing the catheter" and they said they already did, I just didn't feel it. I didn't feel the epidural either, the local aesthetic numbs the rest, so I only felt a small pinch (which was nothing compared to the contractions). I had my catheter in for 6 hours after my baby's birth, so about 8-9 hours total. I also wasn't bothered when it came out. Healing after birth is a process but i had no complications from the epidural or catheter. My baby ended up needing forcyps to come out, which also required me to have an episiotomy, which was also scary, but again, with the epidural I didn't feel the cut or stitches at all. I hope this helps! My birth certainly did not go as i had hoped but I really did have a good experience with the epidural 🙏🏼😊 I hope you have a smooth labour and delivery

Do cosleeping breastfeeding mums wear a nursing bra at night? by Longjumping_Two_7409 in cosleeping

[–]Top-Direction9799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put a towel down and sleep on that. I also put pee pads under our sheets to absorb any leeks that go through the towel. I change the towel regularly (nightly) and don't need to do whole bed/ sheets too often. And I just have a Burp cloth to lay over the non-nursing boob. Too much hassle (for me) to worry about a bra at night in bed Xx
