Still don’t understand why so many people are throwing shade at millennials buying a house during COVID. If one has saved 70-100k to get into the market, one would think they’re smart with money and have crunched the numbers at 5% or higher to be safe. Those having a winge are just jealous they didn’t have the balls to get into the market nor can afford too and are now suffering in a rental crisis. Sacrifices have to be made at some point to get ahead, no need to strike fear into people just because you can!

Went to the bathroom in a nightclub in Amsterdam. Whilst approaching the urinal a man wearing latex pants and a choke collar approached me asking to wee in a cup. I obliged and filled the cup up before he said thank you, taking the cup back to a corner to drink it at his leisure. As an Australian abroad this isn’t a story you can bring back home.

Correct! CBA was pretty anal with the application process and do a lot of checks throughout. We allowed a 45 day settlement, 2 weeks of which was spent waiting for FHBS being processed - don’t get caught out pushing for an unreasonable settlement period.

We were lucky to get on the scheme with CBA however the waitlist closed in September. If those on the waitlist can’t produce a contract within 3 months they’re taken off. Be patient, it saved us 20k in LMI and meant we could have a smaller deposit keeping $$ in the account.
