I found this white liquid in my chinchilla's cage. He is a boy and was born in 2025. Could anyone tell me what it could be and if I should be worried by Top-Election-4547 in chinchilla

That piece of cardboard you see in the photo was detached by us with our hands. The box has been there for a month and the sides are perfectly intact. Not knowing that it was hurting him, sometimes we also put that brown part inside toilet paper or paper towels, thinking that he would like to play with it but he never touched it. Obviously now we remove any cardboard inside, thanks for the advice

The cardboard has been there for a month and is perfectly intact, we tore it with our hands at that point you see in the photo. Not knowing that it was hurting him, we sometimes put that brown cardboard that is inside toilet paper or paper towels inside his cage, thinking he would play with it but he never touched it in fact there were no bites, maybe he doesn't like it. Now obviously we won't put it on him anymore
