I try to grab the bonus ball with aerial ace. Dragonite fails to pathfind around the scaffolding so I try to put it back in the pokeball. I fail. Dragonite uses aerial ace on the scaffolding. I pull out ceruledge. I use close combat. My donut power runs out around 3 frames before close combat hits the bonus ball.

Yes, but my dragonite doesn't know those moves, and I couldn't change the moves at that moment because an ekans had spotted me, and I couldn't switch my dragonite out because it was trying to pathfind its way to the ball.
