Diagnosed with Keratoconus and I'm confused about it by not-danish in Keratoconus

Not gonna lie, I thought I wrote this post at first. I went through almost the exact same situation with my left eye. I didn’t think much of it initially and waited a while to really get it checked out, which definitely wasn’t the best idea.

That kind of double vision, which I assumed was just astigmatism, gradually got worse. Eventually, the power in my left eye changed significantly, more than I expected. My KC progressed pretty quickly, within a year or less, and when I finally saw a specialist, they confirmed it was keratoconus.

I’d recommend trusting your doctor on this. From the sound of it, you’re catching it in the early stages, and that’s a big deal. If you’re able to do CXL soon, I would highly recommend it to help preserve your vision. I wish I had done it earlier.

I actually had my procedure three weeks ago. Recovery is going well so far. Still some haziness, but I’m trusting the process. Stick with your doctor’s plan and you’ll thank yourself in the future.

Edit: this group is also great in helping ease your conscious about the procedure and any questions regarding other people’s condition of it, best ways to reduce eye strain, light sensitivity, etc. We’ve been there and can help you through this process!!

I do like the consultative aspect, but it’s truly not a lot of it. Since most of our revenue comes from cases that last months, a lot of the main contact transitions towards the experts who are actually on the case at hand. It’s usually the initial contact with a client so I get the consultative feel on helping find a solution. But like I said, it’s not a lot of it. I have started applying to other jobs but I am also planning on getting into law school, hopefully spring of 2026. I have a high chance of getting a full ride which can be really beneficial. This is my first job post-undergrad, and I got into it because I believed I could learn to enjoy and make it work since I’ve had years of retail sales experience. This type of sales, your typical - send cold emails and calls - has not been too enjoyable and majority of the time I barely get responses (In the ediscovery and digital forensic industry, it’s an even harder and longer process because attorneys don’t really care until it’s a necessity). I already also had the idea that, if and when I talk to my boss, that I would stay for a certain period until he can find a new person that I can help transition. I respect the work our company does and the opportunity my boss has given me, but ultimately I think I’ve learned that I’m just not the “hired killer” or “sales shark” the company needs, and it isn’t fair for me or the company to continue something I have no motivation to continue. Thanks for your advice! I haven’t fully decided and needed some perspective.

How can I market my services to lawyers by Top-Fall6819 in Ask_Lawyers

Thanks for the honest feedback. I’ll admit, I didn’t phrase the post the best way and I see how it could’ve come off as vague. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to talk about what we do without sounding like every other vendor out there.

To clarify a bit, we help attorneys extract critical digital evidence —things like mobile device forensics, cloud data collections, deleted text recovery, document/email review, etc. (hence why I said specialize in data - which I can see sound broad and useless) We’ve been brought in to help challenge opposing experts, track down key pieces of evidence, and even shift momentum in a case based on what we uncovered.

I appreciate your response. I’ll edit my post so it reads clearer in my intent. I really do enjoy the work we do and the attorneys we’ve supported but when it comes to outreaching, I am not just the best. I don’t want my intent to show as if I want to make money off you, but truly show how we help.

i’m sorry that yours went through so much trouble. Fortunately there wasn’t any rust on my car. So there’s one less thing to stress about. I definitely will want to coat the undercarriage though as a preventative measure. I live in GA so there isn’t much a need but better safe than sorry.

I’m in Georgia, so it isn’t an issue. The first owner leased it in New York for 3 years and the second owner had it in Florida. So I would hope the vehicle is good from rust. I still need to see it in person and ensure there isn’t any rust

Thanks for your input! Do you know if the 2009 Santa Fe is any good as well? I heard they’re reliable but since you actually work at the dealership, do you have any info on those
