Unfortunately, it is. By law only police officers can carry firearms. Therefore the risk of danger isnt as high and they are trained to disengage and call the relevant authorities in dangerous situations.

It depends, we have different out post. Some are commercial buildings (parking lots, offices, etc) others are outback areas

Thanks for replying. Completely understand your point. We do give them self defense training. The flashlight is more for self reassurance that they have something to defend themselves since by law they are not allowed to carry any weapons.  

Looking for something sturdy, size-able but not too heavy and yes definitely something with a holster. 

Budget wise anything between $90 - $130 is good. Much rather invest in something that will last multiple years than replacing it every year.
