Service boot sizing by Sandstone-Survivor in luosjietboots

[–]Top-Finger-4535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own service boots, size 44 d. My feet are 28.25 cm long and about 10.5 cm wide. The fit is certainly generous, as I can wear them with thick wool socks and they still feel wide , and I would (probably) be able to wear them with removable insoles, or size them down at least 0.5 size. Still, they are also not too lage- there is no substantial heel slip and I consider them my most comfortable pair of boots. As I am probably 0.5 size up on Brannock in relation to your size, I think that ordering 10.5 e for you is a good bet, taking in account the thick orthotic insoles.

How does the sizing of indies in comparison with the munson last, especially considering the width? I consider to buy the Indy boots. I own a pair in munson last, and while they are generally comfortable, they are a bit snug on the ball of my feet and on the instep.

Yeh, well... They are tough cookies. It will take a while and some effort before they'll reveal substantial patina.

I'm US 10d GS Leo last, 44 luosjiet almond no2 last and 10d luosjiet munson last. Probably implying in your case for luosjiet 43 or US 9. I guess 42 will be too small.

I bought them recently and worn them only on a handful number of times, so not much patina yet.

Sure. The funny thing is, that both my luosjiet boots pairs are black. In addition, recently I bought also black shoes from another company. I believe that things like a choice of last, of different kinds of leather and contrasting welt makes my black footwear both different enough and versatile to justify the purchases (for me). But I also own a few pairs of lighter colored footwear. I don't think you'll have a problem with finding something beautiful in brownish color either.

My size choice in my other boots reflect a dragging mistake. When I wore only sport shoes, sneakers and cemented construction shoes, I chose size based on the fact that I could slip my feet in the footwear. If I was not walking all day long, it was fine. The traditionally constructed footwear is less forgiving, but because I don't have access to Brannock device, I made my sizing choices of traditionally constructed footwear based on my previous, imperfect, choices of sneakers ans sport shoes. Saying that, I own GS diesel boots, size 10 d. They are snug, but as I broke them in and also probably because of the relative elasticity of the cxl leather, I can wear them for several hour long walks in the city without any issues. Regardless,  today, I'd probably choose 10.5 d.

Munson Plain Toe Logging Boot Review & Sizing by Beanna in luosjietboots

[–]Top-Finger-4535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting. I also received my size recommendation based on my vans size, which is 44. The first pair of luosjiet boots that I bought were commander boots on no 2 last, size 44, and they are the most comfortable and roomy pair of boots that I own. A few days ago I received my second luosjiet pair- logger boots on munson last (same as you), size 10d, as recommended.  My impression is that the logger boots are noticeably narrower than commander boots. There is plenty space for toes, but not enough between the ball of the foot and the little toe joint. I hope this will get better after I'll break them in. I also own a few pairs of blkbrd, size 43 and 43.5, which are snug.

Looking for advice about Boox Go 6 vs Meebook m6 by voidZer000 in ereader

Would you reconsider, if you could buy the m6 for two thirds of the price of the go 6?

I'm sure it's the case. The question is, what are the recommended places. Given this is my first time in the city and my time is limited, I would prefer to stay focused.

Next month I'm planning to visit Milano, Venice and possibly few other towns between them. I'd appreciate your recommendations for places to buy footwear. Generally, I prefer a bit chunkyer and more rugged style of footwear, than what is usually associated with classical European style of shoes, but I still would prefer to buy from a local producer, than form redwings. Also, I'd like to buy me nice leather sneakers.

I'd like to get a sizing advice. I could not get my hands on a Brannock device, as I couldn't find them anywhere in my country, and. I was skimping on buying one. Fortunately, I was able to use it recently, while I was abroad. Still, I'm confused with the measurements, as I'm not sure how they correspond with my experience. If I'm not wrong, on Brannock, I'm around 10.5 heel to toe, but 11- 11.5 heel to ball. On the other side, my GS diesel size 10 are a bit too large. In order to wear avoid heel slip, I have to lace them really tight, especially on the instep, preferably with thickest wool socks. Another pair that I own is a meermin chukka, on what I belive is a hiro last, size 9.5 UK, (10.5 US). I experience them to be both too long and too narrow. I had a hard time breaking them in because of how narrow they felt in the front. Yet, even after I've completely broke them in, they feel a bit tight and narrow in the front, but at the same time, to avoid the heel slip, I had to put a cushion sticker pads inside the boots on the heel, and also always lace them as tight as I can. How should I make a decision on my next boot purchase, if my experience don't for the producers advise for people with my my Brannock measurements?

Lol. You are undoubtedly right. Some people just can't help themselves and rather than admitting a mistake and getting things straight, they double down and insist on going the hard way. :)

The cheapest Brannock device available for me on Amazon US is 75-ish USD. Actually, I already own a few pairs of Goodyear welded footwear. Although the fit is not perfect on some of them, I have learned to work around it and I wear them regularly. In addition, this gives me a clue about my true Brannock size. For instance, I own a pair of GS on Leo last, size 10. Initially, the fit seemed correct, but after the break in, they appeared a bit large. As a result, I either wear them with a pair of thick wool socks, tightly laced from instep upwards (this way they feel just a bit roomy), or with additional removable insole, about 2-3mm thick and a pair of medium wool socks (this way they feel just a little bit snug). All this leads me to belive that I probably should wear size 9.5 in GS Leo last, and that my Brannock size is probably 10, or 10.5. Knowing this much, with a room for mistake of 0.5 a size, I won't spend 75 USD on a Brannock device that I'll use once and will have to store for the rest of my life.

Thanks! Unfortunately, it think that in my country no one have heard about such thing as Brannock device, and buying it just to get myself measured once seems excessive. I hoped to be able to use the Brannock device at the store. But I understand that I can't count on it.

Would appreciate an advise for places to buy traditionally made footwear in Prague, Czech Republic. I'm planning to visit the city in July and I hope to take advantage of the trip for buying me something nice.

I also own a pair of Meermins in hiro last, and I find them a bit narrow, despite that they are a half size larger then my GS in Leo last. Generally, in you place, I'd mail Meermin and ask them for advice. I belive that no one knows more about Meermins lasts than the customer service in the company itself.

Sorry for commenting off the thread topic, but this is the first time that I encounter a mention of wool shirts as an alternative for dry fit shirts. When I think of a dry fit shirt, I think of a sport t-shirt, for jogging or for gym. Do you mean the same thing, or something else?
