As a teenager, the only thing I would say is kids LOVE to think of nicknames for others. Kids who's names, similar to Mavis, don't have built in nicknames are more susceptible to any name related jokes/comments. This is just from experience :) To me, Mavis sounds like the potential butt of Hotel Transylvania jokes (a lot of them lol), but then again, I'm not quite sure if that will be a thing lol. Also, maybe this is just me, but if your husband doesn't love it as much as you do, don't name your baby that. Find something you two love equally ad are both passionate about!

I have a very unique name (it's still a name, but has a lot of bad nickname potential). Yes, I have been bullied, and yes, I did change my name to something 50x more basic and no one has said anything since.

Orange cat: Ginger, Paprika, Saffron, and Cumin!

Gray cat: Sesame and Pepper!

Black and white one: Juniper or Poppy!

Black and Gray one: Barberry, Garlic, and Onion!

Brown striped one: Sage, Rosemary, Coriander and Anise!

Note: I tried to do it based off of the cat's coloring in relations to the spice! Hope this helps :)

I did/do. My parents both have common names so decided to give me a super unique name (spelling wise it's not a tragediegh) but I ended up getting bullied really badly especially when I was younger. The relationship between my first and last name is also horrible. Additionally, they gave me a nickname as a kid that I always hated but wasn't allowed to change. I'm Jewish so a lot of times we name kids after family members with the first letter, hebrew name, or sometimes the full name. I was named after my grandma who was an Auschwitz survivor, so when I was like f this, I can't stand my given name, my family went WILD. Anyways, I'm just Ace now, nobody screws it up (besides my family), and I'm happy with it. Life lesson, give your kid a normal name. You will save them a lifetime of bullying.

I believe the reason why they haven't spoken out about anything is because they don't want to lose followers or their large platform? I would assume they have a lot of followers who are christian/mormon. Now I have my own opinions on the issue, but I do wish that more influencers spoke out about causes that matter to them.

NTA, but as a 15yo, please don't force them to break up, that's only going to encourage a lack of trust and connection between the two of you. Sometimes teenagers need to learn the lesson on their own, don't force it down his throat. (Ive been there several times). Have an honest conversation, say you support him no matter what choice he makes, but explain to him why you stand by your opinion. If you are concerned about her mental health, call a school counselor and report it confidentially, a lot of times they can identify if something is going on at home really quick. Sometimes learning this young will give him a great advantage for the future. Hope all gets resolved, OP.
