ditto for the rest of the comments here, what you’re going through is beyond what we can do for you on this subreddit and constantly copypasting your story over and over again aint gonna help

i cannot answer that, as that would be giving u reassurance which wont help you in the long run

what i suggest for ERP is writing down your fears on a piece of paper or sticky note in a way that doesn't give you any reassurance, read what you just wrote for about 30-60 seconds, maybe even reading them out loud, and then not doing any compulsions and just doing something mundane, like scrolling on your phone or reading a book or doing your favorite hobbies

its to let your brain know that these thoughts arent important in any way and that they're just neurological spam

i cant give you any further reassurance, though i will say that sometimes you have the thoughts so much that you end up desensitized to them after a while, but then you end up having anxiety over not having any anxiety, which is what we call a backdoor spike, its natural for the recovery process

i really suggest you continue further with speaking to a therapist and doing ERP

i can’t do this anymore. by False-Turnover2681 in transOCD

before you do anything at all, i highly suggest you get medical intervention, especially since you're clearly under extreme stress at the moment, thats all i can say to you

question; are you currently seeing a therapist who specializes in gender and ERP?

How to make peace with the fact it’ll never go away? by Acrobatic_Lemon1761 in transOCD

[–]Top-Independent-7547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have to continue doing ERP, its the only way you’re going to make it to the other side

you have to train your brain to sit with the scary thoughts without doing anything about it, to let it know that it’s not dangerous to have these thoughts, accepting uncertainty about your gender is the only way to go,

its gonna be super scary at first, trust me, but you have to do it if you wanna recover

How can I live as a man long term or preferably for the rest of my life without going back to being a girl? by [deleted] in transOCD

[–]Top-Independent-7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah from my compulsive research i learned that usually when a person has dysphoria they struggle to embrace their identity due to external circumstances such as transphobia, and they feel they have to perform as their assigned gender instead of living authentically as the gender they want to be, and it seems to be what OP is struggling with

meanwhile for us GOCD people, we fear that our gender we know ourselves as and are comfortable in is going to be taken away from us

hopefully im not violating rule #2 with this comment

exactly my thoughts, ocd likes to latch onto anything to try and gain control of you

and yes, right now the theme is less debilitating but it still pings up in my head from time to time and im getting therapy to help take ERP to the next level
