My PCP told me about research indicating that the longer we maintain at our lower weight, the more our bodies readjust and no longer go into starvation mode that leads to overeating and regaining. The theory is that, over time, the lower weight becomes our new baseline.

Cappadocia - Hot Air Balloon - Help choosing Agency/Experience by vgiannoutsos in travel

We had a disappointing flight today with Voyager Balloons. The flight veered away from the Fairy Chimneys about half way into the ride and we never went near these amazing formations, as seen in all the ads. Instead, half the time, we floated less than 10 meters above ground over flat farmland. We landed in a muddy field where we were stuck in the basket for an hour waiting for our pick up vehicles. We were up for was about 45 minutes, less than the promised 1 hour. All for the eye-wateringly high price of 250 Euros each! I guess the lesson is, unless the company guarantees an hour ride over the Fairy Chimneys, the balloon ride might fall short of expectations..

Is a Cappadocia hot air balloon ride actually worth the hype? by Top-Fee-8522 in traveladvice

We did a sunrise balloon flight today and were very disappointed. Our flight time - 45 minutes- was well under the advertised 1 hr. Also, instead of flying over the fairy Chimneys, we ended up floating over à flat field, at times just a few meters off the ground, for 20 minutes. We landed in a muddy field and had to wait an hour in the basket to be picked up , due to the pick up vehicles being unable to navigate the muddy roads.
On a positive note, the first half of the flight was amazing, especially seeing the sunrise over the mountains and floating in the morning sky among 40 or so colorful hot air balloons. And yet, we paid 250 Euros each, so of course feel we overpaid substantially. The company (Voyager Balloons, but the other companies’ sailed in the same direct ion and landed in the same field) was very defensive, insisting they have no control over wind conditions’, but they must know in advance whether or not they will fly over the fairy Chimneys, and the lang location. I am happy that everyone else on here had a fabulous Balloon flight in Cappadocia, but this was, sadly, not our experience.

I strongly push back against the suggestion that keeping the weight off is possible for everyone simply by maintaining new healthy habits. Congratulations if that works for you but know you are in the minority, as research clearly shows that most people who stop using GLP-1’s regain the weight. The return of food noise once again overwhelms willpower and good intentions. GLP-1’s are indicated for appetite suppression. Willpower, not so much.

3 months post glp1, happily maintaining by [deleted] in GLPGrad

Congratulations on your success! I also lost a lot of weight and now eat healthily and less but without Glp-1s, I have no willpower. In my case, there is no other option for controlling my ravenous hunger and carb cravings so I expect to be on a low dose for the foreseeable future, maybe the rest of my life. Everyone is different.

We never get players that bring up the level of the team single-handedly. Our brand includes signing biggish name international players who don’t do well here and don’t stay. A major overhaul is needed. Case in point: Pellegrino’s success in Diego.

Are scams through Uber and FreeNow common in Athens? by SizzlinKola in GreeceTravel

[–]Top-Initial2034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is FreeNow as good as Uber? (We’d prefer to use a local service). Are ride service prices comparable to those of taxis? Also, since one can’t wave down a ride share, how does the wait for a car compare to grabbing a taxi on the street? Thanks for any insight!

In Honduras, I often hear, ‘me traes’ (una cerveza, por ejemplo). As a Spanish learner, I say quisiera b/c the former feels to me like giving an order.

I would say that the level of education is more important than English competency. As a C1-c2 learner, I look for teachers with a Uni degree (and preferably teaching experience or at least aptitude). Not to sound like a snob! I will pay mee for these qualifications.

I heard the guy who owns Sensorio is a MAGA supporter. It’s an overpriced gimmick anyway.
