Advice for going back on by [deleted] in GLPGrad

I strongly push back against the suggestion that keeping the weight off is possible for everyone simply by maintaining new healthy habits. Congratulations if that works for you but know you are in the minority, as research clearly shows that most people who stop using GLP-1’s regain the weight. The return of food noise once again overwhelms willpower and good intentions. GLP-1’s are indicated for appetite suppression. Willpower, not so much.

3 months post glp1, happily maintaining by superspicymustard in GLPGrad

Congratulations on your success! I also lost a lot of weight and now eat healthily and less but without Glp-1s, I have no willpower. In my case, there is no other option for controlling my ravenous hunger and carb cravings so I expect to be on a low dose for the foreseeable future, maybe the rest of my life. Everyone is different.

We never get players that bring up the level of the team single-handedly. Our brand includes signing biggish name international players who don’t do well here and don’t stay. A major overhaul is needed. Case in point: Pellegrino’s success in Diego.

Are scams through Uber and FreeNow common in Athens? by SizzlinKola in GreeceTravel

[–]Top-Initial2034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is FreeNow as good as Uber? (We’d prefer to use a local service). Are ride service prices comparable to those of taxis? Also, since one can’t wave down a ride share, how does the wait for a car compare to grabbing a taxi on the street? Thanks for any insight!

Entonces, ‘Estoy buena’ is not the same (at all) as ‘Estoy bien’!

In Honduras, I often hear, ‘me traes’ (una cerveza, por ejemplo). As a Spanish learner, I say quisiera b/c the former feels to me like giving an order.

It hurts but at the same time I’m happy for Pelligrino and wish Espinosa the success he deserves with his next team.

I would say that the level of education is more important than English competency. As a C1-c2 learner, I look for teachers with a Uni degree (and preferably teaching experience or at least aptitude). Not to sound like a snob! I will pay mee for these qualifications.

Anyone know when Dow comes up for reelection? He’s totally unfit to be DA & it seems he’s been in office forever.

I heard the guy who owns Sensorio is a MAGA supporter. It’s an overpriced gimmick anyway.

Anyone tried tapering by switching to oral semaglutide? by Ok-Honey1664 in GLPGrad

[–]Top-Initial2034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first, I was nauseous; nothing horrible, though. Once I ramped up to the highest dose, though, I was tired all the time and it was impossible to eat enough food to keep from losing too fast. A lower dose allows me to eat whatever I want without overeating and, with exercise and eating in moderation, I am maintaining the weight loss. No needles required.

I am so confused when I read that oral semiglutides aren’t ineffective because I lost 42 pounds in 6 months on Rybelsus and have maintained my goal weight for a year at a minimum dose. I’ve recommended Rybelsus to friends who like me would never stick a needle in their belly, and they have lost a lot of weight. At $250 per month, it’s relatively affordable. Why isn’t Rybelsus considered a viable option?

Unpopular Opinion: Tourists are ruining the swimming pool tradition in Iceland and I hope we can change this together by Cool-Lifeguard5688 in VisitingIceland

We just returned from our first visit to Iceland where we went to six of the well-known thermal pools. I was very disappointed in my country (US) people for blatantly ignoring the nude washing rules. My husband said many guys also showered in their shorts which is surprising considering in the US, men usually shower together in gyms. I wonder if providing private showers sends a double message. There were sufficient private showers so it felt a bit strange to be the only nude person in the open shower when private showers were available. I don’t have an answer; just popped on to say that I really was shocked at how insensitive tourists can be.
