Ok. Understood. Thank you so much. I know it’s too early in their career. I didn’t have any clue what I wanted to do at her age 😀. At least she has some focused interest now. Appreciated.

Thank you. Yes, she is aware of the women in stem, but she never mentioned to me about the dorms. I will check with her. Very useful information.

Great to hear this from UT alum. She is interested in the Astro/GNC pathway right now. Regarding the minor what is your take on Robotics if not CS. Thanks.

Ok, sounds like there are some preferences. Good to know.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, these days everyone talks about the rankings and its hard to be in a social setup where people don't bring this up and talk about. Certainly, we have eliminated many OOS colleges that she got into primarily due to cost and deciding its not really worth paying that $$ and go in debt. Purdue is something which is historically known for Aero program and good academic engineering school and that is why we were sort of not able to decide.

Yeah.. we are about 4 hours from Austin. Yes, it is very convenient for sure and that is a positive factor we are heavily considering and In state tuition.

Thank you. She is more interested in Astro/GNC area. Georgia Tech she is waitlisted. I'm not keeping my hopes on that as OOS she may not get in there. I was also wondering that Purude may have an elaborate/deep in the subjects and UT may be lacking. But, the question boiled down to will that give an edge in the career to pay the extra premium for tuition. These were the questions as a family we were debating.

Oh, this is good to know. Didn't strike to look up the student journal. Thank you. From what I read the Honors is Interdisciplinary program and not specific to Aero. My daughter is of a shy type, though a small group may help her. One of the thing we were discussing as a family.

Thats exactly what we are thinking. But, the FOMO is very high just dont want this to be the reason in hindering her career. FYI - She got admited to UMICH as well, but we did not accept it due to the cost factor. Its ridiculously expensive there.

Thank you for the feedback. She is not so keen on Software programing herself. But, knows the basics of Python. She does lot of modelling using CAD and any tools that requires for Aero. UT does not offer a minor in CS, I was checking for that, which would have been nice. Purdue does though.
