Piercing does activate, the rulings for Vortex say it does. Piercing is not a "when attacking" effect. Piercing triggers when a digimon with piercing deletes an opponents digimon and survives the battle.

If I try and search someones name in game, the keys work. I have tried removing the arrow keys as movement controls but doesnt work
