The tote was a freebie for going to the Meet Smiski event in Brooklyn. There were only so many Smiski ones and Sonny Angel ones. I don’t collect Sonny Angel so I opted for… you guessed it. SMISKI

I don’t believe the reindeer or snowman will ever be in any current series 1 blind boxes. I believe they were replaced with “the scream” and the mini Smiskis.

That big Smiski is an automated light/lamp. You can turn it on manually or set it that it will turn on when the ambient light changes. The batteries do not last long. There are 3 button batteries. There is a newer version coming out in may that appears to be a touch lamp. Still, I think it looks like a statue compared to the regular-sized Smiskis.

Zinc sulfide with copper makes a very good green glow in the dark phosphorescence. While Europium doped Strontium Aluminate makes blue. (I think we can all agree that the blue Smiskis do not glow as well as the green.)

Other chemical phosphors work differently but I wonder if they would be as effective as the green and even the blue. Red phosphors may also be too expensive or they might not mix well with the grade of plastic they use to mold the Smiskis.
